There's not actually a direct relationship between USL and MLS.
Basically, MLS is the most well funded professional league, but they are a completely independent organization.
USL has 4 different levels: USL-1, USL-2, PDL and Youth. They also have a women's league.
City Stars are in USL-2...so they would be roughly the equivalent of an independent AA baseball team, if there is such a thing.
For those of you who are MLS fans, City Stars are playing the Crew on Sunday at 5pm...should be a good show, the organizations have worked together on player development.

So much for the weather -- that was brutal yesterday.
For those of you that weren't there, the goal by Luke Williams was a thing of beauty - upper 90 laser guided missile from 25-30 yards out...very nice strike.
We'll have to get the ref a watch that works next time, since he decided to add about 5 minutes of stoppage time to a match that didn't have a single injury...that was garbage.

It was a lot of fun though. Its looking like the weather should be better this weekend for the home opener.
