Good eye, Bayou. Maybe that's why I'm not that attracted to her :-) :)

*spoiler alert*

Good gold medal win last night for Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh over the Chinese in beach volleyball.

I say spoiler because if you weren't up til 1:30, you didn't see it.

I was able to catch it last night, bad conditions, great performance. May/Walsh are absolutely dominant, I never watch beach volleyball sans Olympics, but I must have seen 4 matches that they've been in so far.

Men's final tonight - US and Brazil for the gold. If you like great play at the net, check out Phil Dalhausser for team USA. He's about 6'9 with the wingspan of a 747 and can jump like a deer. It's amazing what random sports you can get into during the Olympics.

I missed it, but that's awesome. If you haven't watched or heard the score of the gold medal softball game, save your self the huge dissapointment and forget it ever existed.

Ridiculous, we fucking practically invented the sport. And now they're killing it from future Olympics, so there isn't even a hope for payback.

I hope so that way we can start down the road of officially ending all of these b.s. notions that China will win the medal count this year?

Christ, any more track events and Jamaica would be challenging us for the medal count. Seemingly a lot of individuals on this USA T&F team. Dropped batons by both the men and women in the same event? Not what most envisioned in these games.

I am thinking of giving up on baseball and working my kids on becoming handball athletes.

Man there are some oddball games here. BMX?

When we went out for lunch yesterday handball was on tv at the pub. The only thing it proves is that when you take water polo out of the pool it is still just as freaking boring as water polo.

BEIJING (AP)—A Cuban taekwondo athlete and his coach were banned for life after Angel Matos kicked the referee in the face following his bronze-medal match disqualification.

Now that the Olympics are coming to a close, what are we going to watch or talk about at the water cooler? I found myself watching quite a bit of the games this year and was very into it. Kinda sad to see it end.

If I have one bitch about the Olympics it was having to watch the seemingly nightly Mary Carillo piece where she went to a site in Beijing and did one of those light-hearted bits filled with ill-timed laughter.

Whoever was responsible for placing her in that role needs to be fired immediately. Those kinds of roles are best left to those gay dudes you see working for the morning teams in just about any local city. Hell I am not a critic of reporters for the most part I just don't care and don't pay attention but her stuff really sucked.

I almost longed for John Tesh discussing Li XioXong (spelling) having "honor" and how important "honor" was to him. Naah she wasn't that bad.

I am not anti-woman she'd probably call a good basketball/softball/volleyball game, just leave the fluff stuff to the specialists...
