Groomsman Gift Ideas

Unread postby Ziner » Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:17 pm

What is the best gift you have received for being in a Wedding? I am getting married this November and trying to think of something cool... Trying to avoid the typical flask, money clip, engraved glass type thing. Any good ideas? I am getting married in Pittsburgh (sorry) and I was really hoping it would be the weekend the Browns played so I could just get tickets to the game for the next day, but I dont think the future wife will postpone the wedding until December 28th so I can give a sweet groomsman gift. Suggestions??? FYI (Budget approx $75 a man)
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

I've gotten a nice monogrammed overnight kit as well as a nice carry on/duffel bag.

Still use them both.

Having been in eight thus far, my groomsmen gifts have run the gammut from cliche to slightly unique

cliche
- bartender shaker/mixer cup thingie with glasses
- engraved glasses
- big bottle of booze

in-between
- best buy gift cert
- book and best buy gift cert

unique
- donation to some charity
- omaha steaks gift set (yuuuuuuummmmmmm!)
- this thing called a valet (multiple docking station thingie for PDA/phones/ipods other stuff that needs to be charged, wood finish, something you'd see in a skymall/brookstone catalogue - i dont have much use for it, but it was different)

That there kids, is what you get for 8 tux rentals at what, $150 a pop?!?! (cash) (n) (swear)

EDIT: the steaks were before I had even been given the nickname T-Bone...
I don't think I'm ever more "aware" than I am right after I hit my thumb with a hammer.

Register all of them as members here at TCF with their own unique user names.

It's personal, as they will all have their own user names, avatars and sig lines and it is useful. Plus you'll gain a new good friend in Rich for your efforts.
