Price of stamps to go up again ...

Unread postby swerb » Mon Feb 11, 2008 4:36 pm

... to 42 cents. On May 12th.

To be honest, given the rampant use of email, I'm surprised they haven't gone up more. I'm sure the USPS is just bleeding us in other areas of shipping to compensate, given how sensitive people are to the rise in price of a common item like the postage stamp.

my mom works at the post office and they actually really aren't bleeding us in other areas. their shipping prices compared to UPS are the same or lower. the only advantage of UPS over USPS is you can track your UPS shipments while USPS you only can get delivery confirmation.

Who are the idiots that run the USPS? Why dont they just take them up a nickel at a time. I still have 39 cent stamps. How much time money and effort are put in to these penny stamps. Is it really going to affect people to take it up by 5 cent increments and not do it so often. Seriously is it that hard?
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

Hey, I agree! It's 41 cents now, instead of adding a penny this year and then one again next year and on and on, why don't they just raise it to 45 cents this year and leave it alone for 5 years? :roll

I cannot remember the last time I used more than 2 stamps in a year.
