To illegal bike races. This was a race I threw last January. With Youtube clips!

Alleycat races are a quintessential element to being a bike messenger, it's our Sunday Football.

Ten hours a day as a messenger yes. I can be seen jetting from building to building downtown during the day then Bar to Bar to Bar to anywhere-that-serves-food-so-I-don't-have-a-hangover-tomorrow.

I am a messenger. It's what I do, not so much what I am, but it beats working for a living.

These races look kinda sweet, what exactly goes down? Looks like a form of cannonball run, except on bikes.

Pretty much it. You're given a page of addresses, no maps, no real rules. The race course is up to you, the routing is up to you. Traffic isn't stopped so there's a real element of danger if you really want to rip.

Back in the day, I rode my bike ONCE in the winter. I fell on my ass after riding on a snow covered patch of ice. That was the end of that.

Remember February 14 this year?

I worked. 9 hours, I thought it was fun, to be honest.

What exactly is a bike messenger's main objective? I have never actually come across one. Nice to meet you.
