I completely agree, however when you are in a movement like this and trying to gain traction screaming "fuck the police" simply isn't going to get you anywhere. Most of these videos are the same, it looks like LEO was totally out of line, but the video never shows everything so we have little idea what really went down.

How much more context do you need? It's a lawful protest protected by the 1st Amendment. They responded by firing tear gas into a crowd. In NYC they maced women, broke a guy's leg jerking him over a barrier, and one cop sucker punched a guy walking away. These are the people we entrust to uphold the law, they're clearly doing the opposite. That should never be tolerated or excused (not saying you are).

Listen no doubt the officers I have pictured above used heavy handed tactics. However I find it odd for some ya'll* who mention in the countless taser threads to "not resist arrest" and you won't be tazed to have such different reactions here when these people refuse to obey ESTABLISHED laws. I followed the Oakland stuff very closely and nothing like that started any of what happened yesterday.

The protesters were peaceful until around midnight our time then a few assholes threw beer bottles and it sucked. I was really proud of the protestors up until then for keeping their shit together and dealing with being pushed around the city w/ heavy handed tactics starting in the early afternoon.

Right up front were two guys with megaphones. One bald asshole in a mint green thong and ass-less chaps. The other some kind of giant. He was huge. A beastly bulging man. Kept calling the bald guy a Knob-Gobbler.

Still don't have any idea what the hell that was.
