Should have tazed the mom for good measure.

Of course it is big news out here. The little spaz got pepper sprayed, tough shit. If the little bastard was taught to listen to authority it wouldn't have happened. When I was 8 I would have shit my pants if the police even threatened telling my parents let alone pepper spray.

He got pepper sprayed, washed it off and was fine a few hours later. Geezus, not even a taser on the fucker. People need to chill the fuck out. Blame it on his opportunistic cunt of a mother for not teaching him respect. Instead of punishing him she takes him on the Today show, great parenting.

This is a little off topic but related in a way. some of you may have seen ths before I just got it again in an email today. It is attributed to Bill Gates and his advice to High school kids.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world doesn't care about your self-esteem.
The world will expect you to accomplish something
BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school.
You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping:
They called it opportunity.

Rule 6 : If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault,
so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring
as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills,
cleaning your clothes and listening to you
talk about how cool you thought you were:

So before you save the rain forest
from the parasites of your parent's generation,
try delousing the closet in your own room..

Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers,
but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades
and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer.
This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters.
You don't get summers off and very few employers
are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF*.
*Do that on your own time.

Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life.
In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds.
Chances are you'll end up working for one..

Look, I know what they said about tests, but I think kid hs something wrong in his medulla obligotta regardless of a lack of evidence.

I also don't think all he Glasser stuff or special schools in the world are gonna help. I can't even imagine this poor litle kid when he gets adolescent empowerment. Someonw will get hurt. Someone innocent. Someone will get killed; maybe multiple individuals. I don't necesarrily know that the ole whack to the arese is gonna make two bits of difference. Kid likely needs residential, but those types of places have mostly all been shut down.

This isn't gonna end well. I don;t think this kid has a chance. And I don't think "nurture" has a whole lot to do with this one.

But the enabling. The questioning of the police. The media attention.

Oye MF'n Vey.

The morale of the story is never bring a piece of wooden wall trim to a gun fight.

As usual not only a sad story but a pathetic one as well.

The worst part of this story is the appearance of the words "Good Morning America" and "Today"

Agreed. They're not the most surprising though.

The kid actually agreeing he was deserving of what he got surprised me given his mother's thoughts.

II'm just amazed and the sheer number of stupid parents and brainless cunts who wear a badge.

It's a shame our standards for parenting and law enforcement are so low that just about any retard can acomplish either with no real qualifications.

Herm's point on single parents in dead nuts on.

We're doomed. Slipping down the toilet and no one much cares, re-runs of Jersey Shore are on. This must be kinda similar to standing on the Palatine Hill in 476 AD. Just with less Goths.

3 factors to lay lots of blame on here, no dad, incompetent cowardly teachers, and some rather questionable LEO's. Suspend everyone involved.

Right. A taser was more apropriate. We were all deprived of that video footage.

These police & educators probaly face hearings just for acting, and get their names smeared, maybe even get sued. Not sure I put them up on the Mt Rushmore of blame on this one.

Kid needs institutionalized. Now. Before someone really gets hurt. Sometimes the gentic dice roll just lands snake eyes. You can blame whoever you want, maybe even, hmmmm, could it be ...... SATAN? But maybe kid is just batshit violent psychopath crazy. I guess you can try to beat down crazy and see what happens (probably a good idea here) , but I'm thinking like any other life form crazy eventully finds a way to adapt and end up as Charlie or John Wayne or Jeffery.

Besides, they are all gonna get their pay and benefits cut anyway by people like you, and you still want them to be heroes? j/k

Beat downs and institutions actually worked for FUDU. I mean, you can see his checkered past in his posts but he hasn't gunned down an entire store full of Chipotle patrons yet and his social skills online, while crude and rarely coherent, still put him in the top 20% here.

The childs emotional/behavorial issues are seperate from the issue of resolving his tantrum in school. No time now but I will expound later. Bottom line is there is virtually no excuse or reason to pepper spray/tazer an 8 yr old child.

Not making excuses to him, his family, his behavior, his emotional issues such as they may be...I agree with JB here. Kid very well may be beyond hope or help. But someone has to try.

I do, however, completely agree with FUDU here. I can think of no reason that adults (plural) cannot subdue an 8 year old child (short of him sporting a gun) without pepper spray.

I must acknowledge that a litigious society may have more to do with that than anything else.

Exactly. Had they tackled him and broken his arm, they would be in a ton of trouble. Or waited him out and the kid did something to harm himself, they would be in a ton of trouble.

While brutal for that moment, pepper spray is probably the least likely thing to cause serious harm, but I have never been pepper sprayed so what do I know.

Pepper Spray really really sucks. Imagine your whole face being stuck into a fire and you can't pull it out. And even after you wash it off your eyelids feel like you have sand in them for the next 10 hours or so. I've been shocked with a stun gun but never a barbed taser that the cops have. Stun Gun taint so bad.

Totaly unrealistic, man. DU has a 7 foot 30 pound revolver, he could never kill more than 6 people without reloading.

He can borrow one from Evan Longoria. Well, he could if it hadn't been stolen. Because it's not weird to keep your AK47 in your 6 week rental or anything.

JB, to my point about the behavior and resolving the tantrum as two separate issues…

I don’t think any of us would argue his home life (minus one parent) is a big part of all of this, it is a cause for most of his problems and there are probably numerous solutions and ways to help, including as you say get him into a program. There is still plenty of time for this kid though (evidenced by his own recognition of his poor choice in throwing the fit), I don’t think he is on the road to gunning down fat slobs in line at McD’s. The school most likely has made mention of any issues if they’ve noticed them, but on that who knows, no info in the reports.

All that is totally separate from resolving the child’s wild tantrums, there might be more ways to resolve that then there are ways to incorporate help for the problems at home with no dad. The kid is 8, not mentally developed enough yet to recognize all the things that go into causing our reactions based on the entire spectrum of emotions, not to mention he isn’t anywhere near physically developed yet either. For Christ sake the kid can’t hit a curve ball yet. So he’s wielding some wooden wall trim, now you’re telling me some grown men (holstering a baton, and professionally trained to handle a violent adult assailant) are in a life or death situation, as to warrant using a weapon of their own, FFS ::doh:: I could understand if the kid had a gun, any weapon that fires a projectile or maybe even a knife, but something that doesn’t even double as a baseball bat in Cuba, should we petition for 10 day waiting periods on all home improvement lumber purchases in order to complete the background checks?

An 8 yr. old can most certainly know the difference between right & wrong in many cases, but they are still 8 and have a long way to go in regards to full recognition of even their own feelings and emotions (not to mention the root causes etc). Still there are probably 3 dozen ways to get the kid to put down the wooden wall trim, starting with “hey look over there it’s Batman”, pepper spraying/tazing probably comes in around option 238 on the list though. I mean really wooden wall trim, oh is poor Mr. PoPo going to get a sliver, JFC. A woman teacher I can kind of understand, although locking themselves in a closet (which I believe is sensationalism by the reporter) is unacceptable. But a trained cop (man or woman)? The other problem with these stories is the reader gets all worked up and plays the extreme cards, whether about the bodily risks to those trying to subdue the child or as in placing blame on the kid (to give the impression they are all about self responsibility). Even to the point many will try to over play the self responsibility schtick for the sake of defending authority (serious conformist attitudes there). Yeah an LEO’s job is thankless, that is true and a shame, however when one (or more) is dealing with an 8 yo the context of the situation changes, and their fully developed brains need to step up and take control. Would the LEO get heat regardless of what they did, probably, comes with the job, but their lives were not at risk in any way shape or form from a wooden wall trim wielding kid that can’t get on the Millennium yet. Not even close. The kid probably couldn’t hurt a grown man with a flail.

B4 anyone flips their lid and plays the “you obviously don’t have kids card and don’t know what you’re talking about”, spare me the over hyped drama. I was 8. Plus I’ve been around plenty of kids on a daily basis (insert joke here_______). Parenting is certainly hard, and arguably the most significant responsibility one can take on, but dealing with kids in these situations doesn’t have to be hard what so ever, the KISS method works just fine.

Peeker, I’ve lived this life, came from a single parent home, when I was 8-9 I had more responsibility than most 14 year olds. Half raised myself and a sibling, doesn’t make me God, nor more right or wrong than anyone else. Played it straight though, 80% of the credit is due to mom no doubt (relevant to different times as well). But I do know if a kid lacks respect for LEO, LEO cracking down on kid in this manner doesn’t ensure the kid gains that respect nor trusts LEO in the future, it makes it that much more a 50/50 flip of a coin.

Mo is also correct in pointing out the litigious angle is huge today.

CDT, step off, it’s a 686 7 shot…and I own a speed loader, but with you I wouldn’t need it just a quick “hey, there’s Batman”.
