It's bad when my first thought when I see something like this isn't for the people who saw it, were under the truck or who were in the cab. It's always, "I wonder if we insure that truck."

That's a bit jaded and is also the truth.

True story here. I have a buddy who I play hockey with who was a complete druggie back in HS. He's a few years older than me. Apparently, one day he was shitfaced out of his mind and going over the Valley View Bridge. He tried to run his car off it and the back axles got caught on the barrier.

Anyway, I drive over this thing all the time and it's frightening as hell when it's windy. I also drive under it all the time, too. You really don't appreciate how high it is until you're below it.

My grandfather helped build that bridge. His funeral procession route purposely went over it.

Surprised this doesn't happen more often, quite frankly.

Heard reports that someone cut the trucker off and he tried slamming on his brakes. Another witness said the trucker was brake checked after he was cut off. Either way, that asshole needs to be hunted down. The last thing to do on the road is fuck w/ a vehicle that big. No way it can slow down the same way someones Grand Am can. People don't realize it and these guys are at risk everytime some idiot pulls a stunt like that.

It sucked so bad that I had to make myself realize that it was a dream and woke myself up. I could still feel the shards of glass in the back of my throat even after that.

I rag on truckers a lot cuz I know a bunch and come in contact with a bunch on job sites and such but, when you hear one talk about hauling a load of I-beams, crashing and then seeing one come thru the back of the cab and thru the windshield inches from his head, you do tend to think of them a little differently...

If you want to look for them, there's plenty of other pics of truck cabs hanging over bridges, some pointing straight down with guys still sitting behind the wheel strapped in...

Some guy was on the I-10 bridge over Escambia Bay as Hurricane Ivan made landfall in 2004. They never found the dude. The truck was cab over the abyss, trailer still on the highway. Why he thought it was a good idea to be on the road when that thing hit will never be known.
