Ugh, even if I was a billionaire, I don't think I'd be able to order this type of food. I'd honestly probably still be eating at places like Applebee's and Denny's. Shit, compared to this meal, I'd save about $47,210.

So how does the tip work in this situation? It hardly seems fair for one waiter/waitress to pocket that whole thing just because it was his turn to get someone seated in his section. Really seems like it ought to be split amongst the whole staff, but wtf do I know.

I know I'd be pissed if Joe got a Russian billionaire seated and I got some 80 year old tight wad from French Lick who leaves exactly 11.5%, and drinks tap water.

I think the best waiter, as selected by the owner/manager, gets the table regardless of section assignments. To think of it, that party was probably the waiter's only table while they were seated and my have been in a private room. No way a professional waiter shares that tip with anyone outside tipping out the bartender and other waiters the head waiter specificly asks for help, IMO. Just like anywhere else, if you're the top waiter at a restaurant as nice as that, you've earned it.

For the record, if I'm billionaire, I'd rack up even bigger tabs at more expensive restaurants with more guests.
