Computer Crashed

...or so I think it did.

It just won't start up. It gives me options to start up in Safe Mode, in configurations that last worked, and normally... all just reboot, do the same thing, and bring me to the same "choose your option" screen.

I was planning on buying a laptop anyway, so I guess this works out.

My question is 'can I save my hard drive from my computer that crashed'?

I have a coworker who once told me that you can take it out, buy a case for it, and then you can connect it to another computer... like an external hard drive. True or false?

true. but of course if this is caused by a virus you could be risking the spread of that virus to the new computer.

I may try to see if the geeks at Best Buy can see if it is infected with a virus.

Just make sure you don't have anything on the hard drive you don't want other people to know about. Best Buy doesn't exactly respect customer privacy, from what I've heard.

Without seeing it, or hearing it for that matter, it sounds like the hard drive itself went to shit....

Did you buy the computer new and have the startup/restore disks?

If you do, A new drive might be worth a shot...
