That's pretty idiotic and low. Breast cancer and abortion are not linked in anyway, it's usually more of a genetic disease than anything. .

Third Example - Socialism

Socialistic terminology permeates English translations of the Bible, without justification. This improperly encourages the "social justice" movement among Christians.

For example, the conservative word "volunteer" is mentioned only once in the ESV, yet the socialistic word "comrade" is used three times, "laborer(s)" is used 13 times, "labored" 15 times, and "fellow" (as in "fellow worker") is used 55 times.

This is going to an extreme.

Now, there have been liberties taken in the text in the past on both left and right sides of the aisles theologically. And it is difficult to convey the Greek and Hebrew well. I love Ancient Greek - English is so inferior to it not just due to the inflected nature of the language, but also due to how verbs are modified to express things. For instance, you can very easily and clearly distinguish something that happened in the past but that is ongoing. So by saying, "I mowed the lawn" you can clearly state that you mowed it in the past and it is something you continue to do to this day. You can also clearly say, "I mowed the lawn" again by just modifying the verb to indicate you mowed it once and for all time - that it only occurred once it history and will never occur again.

You can say just about anything in English, but it requires a lot of verbiage. Greek allows you to say a lot very simply, especially in ancient form.

As for bias in biblical tranlslations, it happens. We've seen some versions that attempt to use PC language by trying to get rid of specific gender references even when pertaining to God Himself. But on the other side we've seen dispensationalist theologians (they are the often bigtime end times guys nowadays, like Tim LaHaye, etc) reinterpret a few things in Paul's epistles to try to strengthen their argument that Israel and the Church are separate. Their view of the Apocalypse of St. John would be unsustainable if Israel and the Church are one, always representing God's Chosen on the Earth through faith. In this case spiritual Israel are the true Children of God because they trust God through faith and all promises were made to those who trusted God, not just to those with a certain ethnic or racial background.

But a Conservative's Bible is ridiculous. I think the English Standard Version is already a great translation as it tends to strike a good balance between the concepts of a word for word and a thought for thought translation. It's in modern English and does the best job of any English Bible when it comes to conveying the originals.

But to understand it best it is best to learn the original languages and Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek are very rewarding. I understand language as a whole much better because of them and grammar makes quite a bit more sense to me.
