Tennis is my favorite individual sport, basketball being my favorite team sport. It's the little things that make tennis really great. I'm sure everyone has experienced trying to play tennis, acting like it was going to be easy, but then when they get on the court and dump a few balls into the net or rocket them over the fence, they get angry and start to hate it. But once somebody learns the proper technique, I guarantee they will begin to like it. The funny thing is, like with everything, people tend to make things harder. Tennis isn't hard. At all.

What I also like about it is that it's just you, your opponent, the ball, and the lines of the court. But mostly you (especially when it's a big point, it's dead quiet, and all you have is your thoughts). The pressure, which is overlooked by most people, is probably my favorite part of the sport.

Most of you may ask how I or any other tennis fans can even sit down and watch a match on TV. It's simple; once you've played the game before, really understand the difficulties of certain shots, and really understand the implications of certain shots (especially ones under extreme pressure), the game gets really exciting.

IMO, it's very underrated. And many people don't understand how demanding tennis can be.

I'm on the fence with all the bitching and back-biting here. I personally go with the live and let live philosophy, but I realize everyone isn't the same and I'm good with that. Plus you have the clearly printed warning label "Mature audiences only, not for the easily offended" on here so you gotta know it's coming from all angles.

Either way, people are posting and replying as much on these 2 threads as they have on any on here so far so obviously it wasn't a terrible idea. I have seen Q&A threads on many message boards, it's not the most uncommon thing out there.

My posting style is on the edge no doubt and I tend to not tolerate stupidness well.

I also tend to think things like this and "how do I go to college" are beyond intolerable threads. This place has too much potential to have threads that belong on the Watercooler or at Cleveland Live.

That said, that is also why I rarely if ever come back here. Too much of this crap and enough posters already have sand in their vagina's over me being mean to them.

Last thing I need is to go off mature audience style and make all the kiddie brigade cry.

That's what I don't understand. I can't ever imagine someone on here who I will more than likely never meet in my life saying something that would genuinely effect me. I guess to each his own. I assume you to be the same way, that you couldn't care less one way or another. I had a problem with a particular class in college. I asked on here because I knew the majority of folks on here went to college, and it's not as if I used their sole advice to shape their opinion on it. I approached my college advisor, my father and a couple of friends who are also in college.

People were nice enough to post some advice and how they've delt with it in the past, for which I thanked them and the thread is pretty much over.

The purpose wasn't to say "Boo-hoo I got butthurt", moreso, I didn't want to screw myself over money wise for that particular class.

I've seen tons of threads dealing with personal matters like this, from "What Car should I buy?" to something along the lines of BP working "as a male escort"

I didn't see Swerb or anybody else PM me saying that I should not have posted a thread.

As for these threads in particular? I think they have a lot of potential to be interesting, I've been curious about a lot of the forum users here (even you :hide:

), and I think these provide the right platform to do so.
