As of now, the only two shows that have me really hooked are Heroes and Dexter.

And as I said in my first article about the TV season, I was really looking forward to just ripping Heroes to shreds based on its premise and how bad X-Men and the Convenant were at the theaters, assuming it would be more of the same bs.

Definitely wrong on that one. It's every bit as good as Lost, and possibly better in regards to not being so deliberately slow and coy with the mysteries...it actually seems to be moving at a pretty decent pace right now.

I thought (could be wrong) that I heard them talking about having one of the heroes die a week or so ago in the previews.

If so, I'd say it's the artist. Not much you can do with a character who can only see the future when strung out on Horse. Plus, if he were out of the picture, the remaining ones would have to work harder to stop the apocalypse from coming.

Do you think that the politician's brother's power is to take on the power of whoever he is around? He flew around his brother. He wasn't frozen when the Japanese kid froze time. And then they showed him doing the white eye thing like Isaac. He is kind of like Rogue from X-men is my guess.

He's definitely a power absorber...I think he actually told Mohinder that at some point during their conversation after realizing that his drawing on the napkin showed the same power as the artist.

But I think that as opposed to Rogue, he doesn't steal their powers, but obtains the same ones they have for a period of time after coming in contact with them. If not, Hiro wouldn't have been able to keep time frozen in the train when he came back to see him at the end of the last episode.

He's similar to Rogue, but doesn't have to touch them to absorb their powers, and when he does steal the powers it doesn't hurt them the way Rogue does.

Ok, I am now officially hooked. Probably my most looked forward to show every week until 24 comes back.

I love this show....and think it is great how they are protraying the heroes as very unorthodox heroes in how the writers show they are hardly perfect at all. The heroes all have issues to varying degrees....the cop has marriage problems, the cheerleader tried to kill the guy who tried to rape her, the internet porn chick does sleazy stuff on-line and brually killed some people, the politician that flies is an adulterer, the power absorber dude knowingly slept with another man's woman, the painter is a druggie, Hiro cheated at gambling....

Anyway, just a great show. I think NBC has found a gem. I'm now a loyal watcher.

Another great episode. Thank God for Tivo so I can watch MNF and then watch Heroes at my convenience the next day, rewinding to make sure I catch all that's going on.

Just a theory, but I'm starting to get the feeling that Claire's dad may NOT be the Bad Guy.

He had Matt Parkman (the mind reading guy) in his "clutches", then let him go after a minor mind erasing, and he could have hurt Nathan if he wanted to (before he took off for the sky...awsome effects). And remember back to the second episode, where he didn't try to kill Mohindar.

So he might just be a government agent trying to get all of them cateloged and working together.

It might be Skylar that Isaac/Peter "saw" as killing Claire.

As far as "save the cheerleader, save the world" goes...my thoughts are that with her instantaneous regenerative powers, she will be needed to dismantle the nuke before it goes off, and no one else could handle the radiation leaking out of it.

(and if any of you remember my 'educated' guesses from my Sopranos articles...you know how badly I suck at this).

I have a feeling we have not yet seen the bad guy. I think the early portrayal of Claire's dad as the real bad guy is classic TV/movie writing where it sets you up for a plot twist later on down the road when he is exposed as a good guy....well, sort of good guy at least. I believe he is the one behind their strange new powers, or is part of an experiment/research team that is behind their powers. This may be out there, but they were given these powers to combat some still unknown force/person we have not seen. Of course, that wouldn't be very original.

Curious to see where these powers came from. How did they get them? How did they all get them so suddenly, and at the same time? Were they born with them? Or, was is some scientific procedure they unknowingly were involved in? Something else? What happened to the Indians guy's father (the one who wrote the book)? How did his father know of all this? Who is trying to kill the chearleader in that painting? When Hiro saw the future, who killed the painter dude...and why was his head sawed in half?

Like with 24 and Lost, one of the biggest hooks for me is when the show keeps you guessing and wanting more.....when one or two questions get answered, usually 4-5 more questions crop up. Of course, with Lost, I don't think we'll ever have an idea what the hell is going on there. Although, tonight I guess we get a big clue.

Definately. This is a great show. Last week's show was great, next week's looks even better as we FINALLY should get to see Sylar.

I'm still perplexed if the cheerleader's dad is the bad guy or not. He seems to know an awful lot.....knows the exact time and place Sylar will attempt to kill his daughter. Whoever he is working for, is this all a big test?

How many people have been experimented on and have these new powers? It seems like every week we come across a new character with powers. And, why is this Sylar guy after them and killing them? Is he some sort of bounty hunter sent out by a higher undisclosed evil?

Lots of questions....and it is what I like about the show. Keeps you guessing and wanting more.

Man, this show gets better and better each week. Maybe the best episode of the season this past Monday. Lots of questions answered, and some interesting new storylines developing. I thought the actor who plays Mr. Bennett (Claire's dad) did a very good acting job, and I have warmed up to him as the season has progressed. I actually was sort of sorry to see him go at the end of the show (although not for good).

I'm curious to see how the new character Eric Roberts turns out, and who Linderman (or whatever his name is, I forget at the moment) really is. Is he the man behind all of this since so many people have ties to him? Was interesting to see Hiro's dad involved from the getgo as well.

I still watch. This is becoming my favorite show on TV. I agree that last week's episode was the best yet. It was amazing. Especially the ending, from the time Ted started to go nuclear to the very end. I'm having a hard time figuring out which charactor is my favorite. It's between about 5 of them. I don't think I've ever seen a show where I struggle to figure out who my favorite charactor is.

Great show...as I mentioned in my 24 recap, Heroes having their best episode of the year saved my night as '24' was a bit slow on Monday.

What I really like is the change of direction they used with Bennett. From Cigarette Smoking Man government baddie to loving father willing to sacrifice anything to save his daughter.

Once Hiro gets his powers back (or removes from himself the mental block he's applied due to the shock of not saving Charlie) and Peter stops his damn whining now that he's starting to control his powers, it'll be perfect.

Must admit...that preview from last week showing Simone alive really threw me.

I think Simone is another person working for Linderman. He seems to have someone planted in every storyline, and I think ultimately she is bad. She has been playing both Isaac and Peter. We are definitely seeing a clear divide on who the good heroes are and who the bad ones are. By the way, isn't Suresh a moron? Um, gee, I go visit super hearing girl with this whacko Metal Melting Guy and she winds up dead. Did he ever ask to see his identification when first seeing the guy to verify he was who he is? You'd think someone would do that if they are trying to locate people, would be the first thing you'd do for verification.

I forgot to mention Simone was alive. The way I see it, there are really 4 different ways they could play that storyline out. One, she's not really alive, it's just either Isaac or Peter having a nightmare, where nightmare Simone is blaming them for her death. Two, she's working for Linderman and was wearing a bulletproof vest of some sort. Three, her and Isaac were in on "it" the whole time, and used it to capture Peter, or something to that effect. But none of those are very likely. The one I think they'll go with is she actually does have a power, it's just something that hasn't manifested before now. Maybe something like a reanimation power? So that she actually does die for a period of time, but then comes back to life? I dunno. It's going to be very interesting to see how they did that.

Suresh is naive. Very naive. He accepts things as he sees them, and doesn't see the different layers everything can have. He saw Sylar at Burger King Guy's house, and assumed that's who it was. Then, he saw hearing lady dead, and didn't make the connection, just assumed it was a coincidence.

I think Hiro's powers being gone are a result of a mental block, as you said. He believes that having the sword will restore his powers, and in a way he's right. But it'll just give him the confidence to do it himself. Similar to what Spiderman went through in Spiderman 2.

Mr. Bennet is quickly becoming one of my favorite charactors on the show. He's so complex, yet he's so simple. It's amazing how they do that.

IMO, this is the best show on TV. But I don't watch a lot of shows, so my sample size is pretty small. But regardless, it's a great show.

Damn. Just caught the episode from two weeks ago last night finally....the one before the show went on hiatus until April 23rd. Looks like 6 more episodes before the season ends.....

Lots of new developments with this past episode....Eric Roberts character gets more air-time and it looks like the final few episodes will focus on him searching for Claire in one of the storylines. Then you have the appearance of Linderman. Is he the puppetmaster behind all this? And what of Peter Petrelli and Suresh? Is Sylar gonna do them in?

Man, this sucks that this show is not on for another month....probably my favorite show on TV second to 24. Anyone know why the show is off for a few weeks? Are they just spreading out the time since there are only 6 episodes left? Are there new shows they are piloting the next few weeks?

I believe they're off for a few weeks just to spread it out. Different shows handle things differently.

House, for example, will usually go strong until Thanksgiving, then take a break until January, then will go 2 weeks on, 3 off, 1 on, 2 off, 4 on, 1 off, etc...it doesn't seem like there's any rhyme or reason to the schedule, except to go around american idol (which I hate).

Jericho decided to split season 1 into what seems like 2 seasons. They ran their first 11 or however many episodes they made in a row, then took a long break until February, and now they're running their last 11 episodes in a row with no break.

Heroes seems to be a mix of the two. They ran strong until November, then took a break until mid-January (I think), ran something like 6 episodes, are taking another month and a half break, and then it looks like they'll finish up the season.

Speaking of House, I notice they are airing episodes on Friday now....is this the new time slot for the show? If so, is the show close to being a goner? A Friday timeslot usually is a death sentence.

While I am here, anyone know if Prison Breask has been re-upped for a 3rd season?

The new episodes are still on Tuesdays. Last week's episode was very strong, especially when I got to well out "He's got the bends!" right before the actual diagnosis was given (although a trained monkey could have probably figured it out at that point).

And Heroes is on hiatus until next Monday. I've been jonesing for the next episode for weeks now.

Thanks for reminding me how my girlfriend fucked up the DVR and stopped recording that show with 10 minutes left, and I was so pissed I erased the episode, so I haven't seen it yet. Worst thing is I forgot to record the rerun on USA, so I won't get to see that episode for some time.

Tonight's episode, like most every episode, gave me goosebumps. I'm glad I decided to watch it live, because Time Warner's digital cable has taken a shit, and all the broadcast networks have no sound right now, so I had to go into the bedroom and watch it over the analog cable line.

Man, this may become my favorite show on TV. Probably 1A with 24, although 24 is slipping some. I still have a very big soft spot for 24 though, so will be hard for any show to trump it at this point. The day I know I like Heroes more is when I watch it live and watch the Tivoed 24 later.

Damn. I wasn't going to say it, but that is totally my guess too. I have a whole theory based on Hiro not wanting to become anything like future Hiro, and Ando getting his moment of heroism even though he's powerless.

Well, I have to bump this up, not because last night's episode was particularly awesome, but the promo for what looks to be a two-part season finale was incredible. Also, during the episode I did get validation for my theory that Hiro cannot envision himself becoming Future-Hiro. I still think that with the passage of knowledge from the future to the past to both Hiro and Ando, Ando is going to be the one wielding the sword.

The way this happens is because Isaac drew those comics before Hiro went to the future, and despite Isaac's awesome power, I doubt it includes predicting changes in the time line.

The biggest question I have is how Micah plays into the endgame, although I'm also curious as to how Hiro's father (George Takei) fits in.

Haven't watched this Monday's episode yet, but wanted to chime in that the 2012 episode was great. That was awesome that is was Silar! Totally didn't see that coming when he did that finger thing to Claire. Man, this show rocks.

2012 was a very good episode. I'm still pissed they didn't show us the Sylar/Peter fight, but whatever. This week's episode wasn't as good, because it's a bridge episode to the last 2 episodes of the season.

It did have it's interesting points though. Seeing into Sylar's life, with his mom, and seeing how he became the way he is...it's almost like a look inside the mind of a serial killer. It was also interesting to find out that he doesn't want to kill just to kill, he wants to kill because his victims are "unworthy" of their powers. Now, however, after he painted the explosion on the ground himself, it seems he's eager to cause so much destruction. Man, Sylar is such a great villain. I really hope they don't kill him off, even though they probably will.

Regardless, I'm incredibly excited for the last two episodes. Should be a great end to a great first season.

Remember, to be a hero, you must be willing to sacrifice that which is dear to you, and Dad just might be the "sacrifice."

I love this show.

I might be wrong...I'm going to rewatch this episode either tonight or tomorrow in case I missed something important, but I believe Hiro's father said he did have a power (or at least strongly implied it), but he never revealed what it was.

Also, count me among those who was shocked that Linderman was killed. I thought he'd be a recurring charactor for at least another season or two. Although, the way he was killed was badass. You go DL.

I keep hoping they find some way to keep Sylar around, if for no other reason than he's such a cool charactor with all those powers, and he could have some truly epic battles with Peter. But, it looks as though they are, in fact, going to kill him off.

And I think you're right on the whole Hiro sacrificing something. He'll either have to sacrifice Ando or his dad. I think he actually is going to have to sacrifice his dad to kill Sylar. Something along the lines of his dad being very rubbery (like Mr. Fantastic), and he wraps Sylar up, and then Hiro has to stab through his dad to kill Sylar.

But as for the charactors I think are going to die in this episode, I'll go with Mr. Sulu, Candice, Sylar, Mrs. Petrelli, and I'm guessing a surprise one...though I haven't decided who yet. Maybe Nikki, but I doubt it. I'll come back to that one.

And yeah, HRG's line was awesome. He's my favorite character on the show now, followed by Sylar, Hiro, and Peter.

Well, this is basically a live-action comic book, so they can bring in anyone they want, with any power they want, and any backstory they want.

Also, if they kill Sylar, I wouldn't be shocked to see him brought back in season 3 or 4, or something like that.

If they do kill him off, potential villians for next season could be Jessica/Nikki since maybe Micah bites it and she completely loses it. Or, possibly Nathan Petrelli....I could see them making him a villian... a crooked politician, and he just always has seemed distant from doing the right thing (by design?). Or, yeah, maybe they bring in an unknown character.....but man, it will be hard to live up to Sylar.

Also, the Mr. Sulu shit went right over my head and it finally hit home halfway through the episode tonight what that meant. Is that really the dude that played him? That's awesome.

I have to add, I still see the Nikki/Jessica and Nathan Petrelli characters as the most likely to turn bad. Both are easy to corrupt by money (Jessica/Nikki) and power (Petrelli). And, haveing Nathan Petrelli the bady adds an intriguing powerplay between him against his brother (the good one) and his daughter.

What a great season.

As it turns out, Sylar isn't dead (YES!!!), Mr. Bennett's name is Noah, and Hiro accidentally transported back to ancient Japan. I don't think Peter's dead, but I do think Nathan is.

I get the feeling Hiro is going to be the main focus of the next season, and many of the main characters from this season won't be back.

Also, Molly gave us a glimpse of a future villain - the guy she said could see her when she tried to find him. Sounds intriguing. May not be next season, may be another season.

Still, what a great show.
