Munich Should Have Won Best Pic Of The Year

Finally saw Munich, and have now seen all the POY nominees except for Brokeback Mountain.

Like Mitch, I thought Munich was excellent, and it will crack my top 50 movies of all time. Its a travesty in my view that Crash won the award over this film.

Very powerful film from start to finish. Gripping, edge of the seat stuff from the get go, and another amazing performance by Spielberg.

When did the movie actually get interesting? I fell asleep about 30 minutes into it and haven't given it a 2nd try.

Yog, I thought the entire movie was pretty enthralling.

But I could see the mindset that it starts slow. After depicting the capture of the Israeli athletes, then the Israeli leadership commissions Avner to start taking out the Palestinians responsible. Thats when it starts to get really good, and they do a couple really edge of the seat flashbacks later in the movie that better paint the picture of what happened with the Israeli hostages.

Yogi, I would rewatch it. Im eager to see it again, and I made it up through the whole thing.

To me, that last flashback scene at the airport was the most emotional of the entire film.

As I watched it all again, I'm still pissed that Eric Bana didn't at least get an Oscar nomination...he deserved it a lot more than Heath Ledger for mumbling through Brokeback Mtn.
