A History Of Violence - Good Flick

Couple good sex scenes and absolutely gratuitous violence. Good performances from Ed Harris, Aragorn from LOTR, and Maria Bello.

Not too much to the story, character development was suspect at best, but well worth the watch. They never gave any background on Aragorn and Bello's early life together, which was likely intentional to keep you guessing as to whether or not he was the monster he was being portrayed as. Yet I thought they could have done that better.

They did a good job portraying the transition back to violence, from middle America life in Aragorns life. And he did another great acting job. I want to see him in more films. Hes good. I like Ed Harris alot as an actor as well.

The initial robbery scene in the diner was great, and really gets the action going.

I could see why people wouldn't like this movie. I could see why some loved it, and it got some Oscar love.

Me, I'm just a sucker for brutal violence.

Good flick.

I would have been fine if History of Violence had gotten an Oscar nomination for best picture (instead of Brokeback Mountain).

Great story...great acting.

BTW, Swerb...if you want to see a lot more of Maria Bello's naked body (and I mean full frontal nudity several times), watch "The Cooler" with her and William H. Macy as a sad sack who's luck is so bad, he's paid by a casino to stand next to hot gamblers to change their luck.

Mitch, I did like 2-3 years ago. I didn't even realize it was the same actress till reading on IMDB after I saw the flick.
