Who plays Euchre?

The best damn card game ever IMO. It can be such a fun game then turn into a cruel mean bitch in the matter of two hands. ALL HAIL THE LONER HAND

I played euchre maniacally in high school and the years after HS. I have vivid memories of skipping class my senior year, smoking hand rolled cigarettes, and playing euchre.

Prolly haven't played the game in 5-6 years though. Used to play online a little as well.

Such an Ohio thing.

I used to do it all the damn time...still would do it on occassion when visiting family.

Not a person I've ever met from the South who knows what it is.

I was very stubborn in college and never learned even though my housemates tried to teach me several times over the last two years of college.

After college had a lot of time on my hands with my "work from home" job, and taught myself on yahoo.

Now there are nights when all I do is sit at home, check these d@mn boards, and play it on yahoo. Nice life I lead.
I don't think I'm ever more "aware" than I am right after I hit my thumb with a hammer.

Its a pain in the ass to teach to new people. We tought a friend from Manchester U.K. now he has a dozen firends that play it back home. I've been playing nightly the past few days with my friends and have been getting killed its embarrassing.

Great game. Brings back some memories from my University of Akron days. We used to play for beer. Well Goebel might not be considered beer but that's what we played for. Damn near 30 years ago. It seemed it was always hard to find a fourth player for that game.

I'm more of a Hearts player myself.

In the end they are all pretty much the same game with a different twist somewhere in the middle.

Played all the time in college. Likely, too much.

When we get together with my wife's family in Louisiana, my wife and I end up playing with her cousin and husband (who is also from NE OH).

GREAT game! I learned in college, and still play from time to time.

At one point we played so much during our tenure at a local summer camp we made championship belts....I wonder what happened to those things

Way to easy to cheat in Euchre; I prefer Spades.

Agreed, all it takes is a set of signs for suits and you are in business. I have several friends who are on the cheater watch list

A set of signs and suits were used in the fight. The sign of fatigue on the puncher was shortness of breath and the suit for the punchee was black and blue with some crimson.

Our punishment for a caught cheater is a blast from my friends Stun Gun that my seem extreme but hey rules are rules and if you have to cheat at a card game among friends you deserve it. The last person that got the shock was someone who tried to renig while we were in the barn and im sitting there with Jack, Ace, 9, 10, trump and an offsuit king. God I love Euchre......
