The first, and I hope only, season of "John From Cincinnati" ends this week.
For some stupid reason, I have watched every episode.
It started out somewhat promising, in a "What the fuck are they doing" way. Nothing wrong with that. That's how it was early on with "Twin Peaks", "Lost" and "Heroes"
Unfortunately, all three of those shows got better as the season went on (although "Twin Peaks" jumped the shark in the second season). With John...it's been a downhill race to the bottom faster than the Tampa Bay Devil Rays one day stay at the top of the AL East standings prior to the opening game.
Seriously...David Milch refused to do another season of "Deadwood" for this piece of complete shite?
I have never seen an HBO show with such horrible acting, writing and directing. Rebecca DeMorney may have a lifetime achievement as the worst combination of acting and character ever. Damn...her level of bitching ALMOST makes my ex-wife look somewhat sane in comparison. And she's 47 years old. No one can believe she's a grandmother to a 14 year old.
Bruce Greenwood is the best actor there, so he totally disappears for like five episodes. And if the kid playing the grandson was any more wooden, he'd be standing in front of a cigar store.
"Sopranos", "Deadwood", "Six Feet Under"...all gone. And THIS is what they give us.
Luckily, "Big Love" has been much better than last year. "Entourage" still rules, and hopefully "Dexter" will be back soon on Showtime.
But as for "John"...I should have known this would suck two peckered goats.
It has the word "Cincinnati" in its title.
