Best Number 2

Not discussing the obvious...

Tell me the best film sequel, the best 2nd movie in the series.

(This brought to you by alcohol, makers of bad topics everywhere. And Lethal Weapon 2, a movie that I haven't seen in 20 years and is entertaining me thoroughly.)

Not even a discussion.

Godfather Part II is the standard bearer for sequels and one of the greatest movies ever made.

Honorable mention ...

Empire Strikes Back
Aliens
The Two Towers
Rocky II
Terminator II
(If the Dark Knight counts, add it here)

Lethal Weapon 2 is greatly underrated, as is the hot South African piece of ass in it.

And the best sequel of all time remains Aliens, slightly edging out Empire.

Tough to argue with that one. I've seen the Godfather series once. Maybe it's time I watch it again.

I'd also be remiss if I don't mention Breaking 2 Electric Boogaloo. Fantastic in it's own right, but not in the pantheon.

GF2- Hell, it's close to being better then the 1st one and THAT'S the greatest flick ever made

Aliens- This one is actually better than the first one

LOTR 2 Towers- Never read the books, so this is the best cliffhanger

ESB- They should have stopped the series after this one

Die Harder- Classic XMas movie

Honorables: Kill Bill 2, Lethal Weapon 2, Be Cool, DK

Does Silence Of The Lambs count? If so, put it #2

As much as I love GF2, my feeling is that it's not as good as GF1. There's one truly great movie that is not only a great movie but kicks the ass of the original.

The Road Warrior (sequel to Mad Max)

Coming in a close second is tESB, better than Star Wars, and the best in the series, and a truly great movie in its own right.

Then comes GF2, awesome, but not something I'd rather watch drunk than the other two.

Others in no order (not sayin' better than the original, just good):

For a Few Dollars More
Evil Dead 2 (better than the first)
Bourne Supremacy (better than the first)
Shrek 2 (better than the first)
Dawn of the Dead (and the remake)
Aliens
Lethal Weapon 2 (obviously)
Magnum Force
Temple of Doom (though the worst of the 3 originals)
Toy Story 2
Fletch 2
The Dark Knight
From Russia With Love

BTW - if we do consider Silence of the Lambs the 2nd movie (which, technically, we should), then hells yeah, throw that in there.
