Fast forward on a DVR is good...got to skip over most of the Sam and Jason plot lines to get to the good stuff (I went back later to make sure I didn't miss anything. I didn't).

Maryann stole Sam's soul last season and Jason's character hasn't been interesting since Amy was knocked off (what a shame by the way) in Season 1

I hear ya there.. trying to hang in there but they could easily do the following:

-No werewolves, they are lame, one dimensional, and bring nothing to the table
-Get rid of sam's family and the dog fighting. Horrible idea for a plot
-Get rid of Tara, bitch annoys me and is just always overacting
-Get rid of Jason's annoying woman/love interest.. I just dont care.
-More Pam and Eric storylines. Why these 2 arent on screen more is ridiculous
-Make Sookie whine 100% less.

Sam's family sucks, we get it. Steeler fans they are.

The Fanklin/Tara angle had a chance, now I don't give a shit.

Eric's backstory was great and they just bailed on it.

I was hoping the Mississippi Vamps would've been backwoods hillbilly rednecks.

The Werewolves SUCK, they have done NOTHING.

Jessica is MIA.

Jason was a funny character, now he's just a walking unrealistic bad idea guy. Seriously.... Someone that dumb would've never made it to 10 years old.

I've enjoyed the entire year.

But yeah, Russell turning to the other camera after his spine-wrenching diatribe and going to the weather girl was simply priceless.

Are the tweakers just wolves or are they something else entirely?

It depends on whether or not Alan Ball goes by the books...something he often does not do.

And that's all I have to say about that.

But yeah, Russell's Rant was some of the best TV I've seen in a long time.

Sat there thinking this might be the boringest episode ever (other than Sam finally freakin out!) and then POW!!!

Also, why the f#@k would the writers bring back Franklin for 3 minutes of more great air time and then have Jason kill him?!?!?!? IMO, the wrong character(s) died there

This episode was pretty slow for about 20 minutes, although I loved the opening bit.

But it got really dark later on...and Sam was finally interesting for the first time this season.

Also got to see that they did make Crystal the WerePanther, like she was supposed to be in the book, and not a werewolf.

I heard that there are witches next year...Lafayette is obviously one of them.

Based on only two episodes left...the very cryptic previews of next week, and Pam's comment about "if you aren't going to give Sookie to Russell, then figure out how to use her".

Eric drinks enough of Sookie's blood to trick the deranged Russell out into the sunlight.

That's my guess, and I'm sticking with it.

OT: Anyone watching probably THE best season in awhile of Entourage??? Last night's episode was epic

This show is total garbage. These characters suck and nothing interesting is happening. Just like season two, story arcs get dragged out forever with nothing to make them watchable. They have 900 thinmgs going on at once and they try to wrap it up in 4 episodes. It's clumsy at best.

Not being snarky, it's just when I find a series that ends up truly pissing me off, I cut my losses and stop watching it (Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Hung, Nurse Jackie, and most everything on network television for recent examples).

Two exceptions were John from Cincinnati, which I watched until the bitter, awful end just to see if this could really be as bad as it was. Which it was.

The other was last season of Big Love, which was by far the worst, and it got to the point that I hate Bill Paxton's character with a passion, and was rooting for his downfall, which looks like it happened at the end of the year.

Tell ya what, a couple months ago I set forth with watching the first 5 seasons of 'Weeds'.

Sooooo happy I did. Just about caught up and halfway through season 5.

First 2 or 3 seasons were the best, but Weeds defintely brings it in the season-ending cliffhangers all the time...

Show's kinda like Entourage for me, hit or miss, it's still a lot of fun...

I think John was supposed to be an angel...which made the "From Cincinnati" part so ironic.

Or he might have been an alien.

What he really was was the most boring phucker I've seen on TV for awhile.

Jumping tangents to an earlier Wobo point, yes, Entourage is pretty good this year, but it's taken me a bit to get used to this shift to the serious.

Good writing...good acting (from most), but Vincent Chase is a dick this year, and a completely unsympathetic one for once. It will be interesting to see if they allow him to fall all the way, without having a Martin Scorsese to unrealistically rescue him.

Just read this thread, couple thoughts popped up along the way.

- The wolves are too weak, they were talked up by Bill and Eric and the truth seems to be that they are only useful stopping hapless humans, and even at that they fail routinely.

- Agree with those that want Tera dead. She's worthless, and worse than that extremely annoying.

- Sookie is also utterly annoying. Complete moron character, I very much dislike her in the exact way that Kate was a shitty character in Lost.

- The director is completely out of the closet in season 3. Could have implied quite a bit of the gayness. Whatever, now I just watch the show on delay to FF. Dude had a panther tatoo didn't he? Doesn't fit in with the redneck meth heads but they've made a point to show that way too many times for it not to be something.

- I liked Sam until this season. Now things are too jumbled and they don't know what they are doing with that mess.

- I also agree with E0, the end with Russel a week or so ago was flipping awesome, and saved that from possibly being the worst episode in the series. Epic ending.

- I'm gonna be furious if they seriously just killed my two favorite characters in one swoop. This show takes a long walk off a short pier if Eric dies. Russell, well you knew his candle was burning bright and it wouldn't be too long either way but talk about a bunch of dead end side plots Eric would leave.

Couple other thoughts from the thread non TB related:

- You guys are seriously buying Buscemi for this new series? I think he's going to bomb in that role. Anyone have a past movie I can check out with Buscemi playing a calculated head man? Personally I've never seen him play a role even remotely like that.

- Totally forgot about John from Cinci...I was def watching that for a while but it must have went down with a whimper as I can't even remember a conscious decision to stop watching.

- Oh and I'm back watching Weeds as well, I ditched it in the middle of season 1 after a couple boring episodes, but in light of today's offerings I've been trying to pick up some good older series. I'll probably finally pick up the Wire soon.

- Peek you should definitely check out Breaking bad if you aren't already, I'm still amazed this is an AMC show and not HBO.

Nothing resolved other than Russell out of the picture (maybe).

Just glad they didn't kill off Eric and Pam. Right now they are the only characters worth watching (although Bill gets some style points for finally showing himself to be a manipulative liar).

Alan Ball has some work to do for next year to get this thing back on track.
