Paranormal Activity

Anybody catch this movie? The hype for this flick is of Blair Witch proportions but it's only running in a few cities.

Pre-"Blair Witch" that might have gotten my interest, or when I was 14. That preview, and no offense to anyone who liked it, was an insult to my intelligence. I have to think they either pre-screened the people in that theater to ensure that they were the same people who would stand in line to watch the Jerry Springer Show, or else they were paid performers to get all freaked out.

Agree with jfiling about the audience... with trailers like that, you never know, it could've been staged and all.

Regardless of that, I'm still interested and would very much like to see it. Did you catch this when it was a headline at Yahoo? lol

It's crazy that it released in 2007, still hasn't been released on DVD, and still showing in theaters. Maybe it's not that great after all?

CDT should take one for the team and go see this, as it is playing in C-Bus.

I'd consider it. But with Zombieland coming out, it prolly aint gonna happen anytime soon. FTR I loved The Blair Witch Project, I saw it the day it came out, when it was still "real". That movie had the best hype and ad campaign in film history.

My to see list.

1) Extract
2) Zombieland
3) Jennifer's Body
4) The Informant

Zombieland looks pretty awesome.

That and Big Fan top my list at the moment.

Want to see Inglorious again at theaters too.

I keep hearing more and more about this movie. I would see it if it played around here for sure. I read that the director is doing an area 51 movie next. Blair Witch style again but following a group of people that have an alien encounter.

Going to see Paranormal Activity tonight in Cleveland. Woot. Might pull a double and see Zombie Land afterwards.

I saw it in Columbus last Thursday at midnight. It was terrible in my opinion. It wasn't even close to the 'scariest movie ever' and Blair Witch was definitely better no doubt, not even close. Don't waste your money. There's honestly no suspense, just a dumb ghost that you can't see that closes doors. There was one good part, however, at the very end. That's all I have to say about that.

I liked it a lot more then you. I don't think it's the "scariest movie ever" or anything but it did have its moments. I think it scared me more just because ghosts stuff scares the crap outta me because of some personal experiences. Anyways, there were a couple of really disturbing parts. I thought it was better then Blair Bung Whole.

Saw it.

Pretty good. To me, Blair Witch is scarier.

Peeped this flick last night. I thought it was pretty good. Got the chills a few times. During the night-time camera scenes the theatre was absolutely quiet. Pin drop quiet. And where I live, that never, ever happens.

Blair Witch is still my all-time scariest movie, but this one was worth $8.

I redact my previous statement; I now think PA is more scary than BW.

Reason; BW takes place in the middle of the woods, nobody is ever really lost in the middle of the woods... PA takes place in a house, and (most) everybody has or lives in a house.

As spoken by someone who has never been coon hunting. Even if you know the land like the back of your hand, it's easy to get turned around at night, and the reason why it's still #1 on my list.

Is that you Forrest? :dingle:

I saw BW when it first opened. Scared the bejesus out of me.

This looks pretty good. It was made for $11 grand. Spielberg got involved somehow and spent a lot of time convincing the studio to release it. The studio that bought it wanted to recast it and shoot it again. I think that's why it took so long to get released.
