Very tough first round match-up. The seeding committee made it tough on these two. I got both these guys in the elite eight and higher.Erie Warrior wrote:Cerebral_DownTime wrote:

This was a tough call for me. Went with Frankenstein, but it was close.

Also liked to have seen Nutty Professor (remake), Mask, Liar Liar. But thats just me. Some funny films listed there.

Anyone who voted for Kingpin over Sarah Marshall should be forced to watch Howard The Duck for an entire weekend

Johnny Dangerously is underrated. and i just don't think Steve Martin is that funny. sue me.
Waterboy had a tough match up, but shoulda got a lot more votes, movie was absolutely hilarious.
i hate Spaceballs. maybe top 5 least funny comedies i've every seen, glad it's losing.
i love Spinal Tap and Shawn of the Dead. both hilarious spoofs and cult classics.
i voted for Super Troopers over Animal House.
Bill Murry MADE Kingpin. Sarah Marshall was overall a lot funnier start to finish and just a better movie.
never saw Christmas Vacation, but is it really THAT much more funny than Burn After Reading? i voted BAR, that movie was funny as hell.
i liked Wedding Crashers, but i love Billy Madison. Sandler's getting no love in this bracket. at least Gilmore is winning.
i'm amazed by the amount of movies on here i haven't seen: Real Genius, Young Frankenstein, Weird Science, The Odd Couple, Trading Places, The Pink Panther, Ruthless People, The Producers, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Arthur, Fletch, Slap Shot, Christmas Vacation, Airplane II, Blazing Saddles, Stripes, Annie Hall.
omissions: Beerfest, The Hangover

Shit dude, how can you vote if you haven't seen half of them? You've missed all the Mel Brooks films and Animal House may be the eventual winner. Never seen Christmas Vacation? I'm a big Coen Bros guy, but NLCV is much funnier than BAR. It's the #2 Christmas movie, only behind A Christmas Story.

Kingpin is one of those flicks ... the last half hour is so GD funny, it atones for a disappointing first hour. Bill Murray as Ernie McCracken ... one of his best comedic roles ever behind Carl Spackler.

Trading Places vs Tommy Boy - Trading Places is a classic.
Nice bracket overall. I love some of the classic 80's comedies.

Tommy Boy may be the most quotable movie of all time. I can apply at least one Tommy Boy quote to real life just about every day. It's endlessly rewatchable.
Maybe if Eddie Murphy had died young like Farley then he'd be getting more votes.

You cannot make this claim with Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Knocked Up getting killed. Those are two of the most watched movies among this "young 'un" generation that you're speaking of.
Superbad's only winning because Fletch was a horrible movie.
Definitely would have liked to see Eurotrip in this bracket, but it's one of the funniest movies that no one's ever seen.

The scene in the Vatican where they "elect the new Pope" has to be one of the funniest. If Eurotrip is on TV, I can't not watch....

I can't believe I didn't mention that in my original list. Nor has anyone else mentioned it, as far as I can tell. Did we all just forget that movie, or am I the only guy that thought that was a great film??? I thought the actors were great, the effects were great, the concept was great.
