Superbad wasn't that funny. Wedding Crashers sucked.

Anchorman is my dark horse for the 1st bracket, it's the only one that might put up a fight vs Caddyshack. Monty Python should come out of the 2nd bracket. 3rd bracket, Animal House in a walk. 4th bracket, do not overlook Office Space or Clerks.

I'm completely amazed that Borat was a #3 seed and the Big Lebowski was a #7 seed. I thought Borat was some weak sauce, especially considering the HBO show was better. The Big Lebowski is probably my favorite movie made in the past 15 years. But I guess different stuff make different people laugh.

Also pretty bummed that Jim Carey's 2 movies are facing off in the 2nd round. Dumb and Dumber will probably destroy Pet Detective.

This is my favorite bracket yet thanks again.
How long do you estimate it took you all to put this together (if you don't mind me asking)??

I see what you are saying, but they are different in my opinion. Carrey completely carried both movies with his acting. Akroyd wrote two amazing movies, but he was kind of the supporting comedy with his acting.

This bracket has made me realize how many funny movies are out there.

Ziner, That movie sucked ass. A week of people saying "Ohh it's so funny, you'll love it." Bullshit! I paid $8.50 + the $25 I had to shell out for popcorn and pop for that steaming pile of not funny. Owen Wilson is a douche.

People probably over-hyped it for you. It's a 2 seed, it deserves another shot.

I do agree Owen Wilson is a douche, Vaughn pulled the weight in Wedding Crashers.

Come on guys... Clerks losing to Happy Gilmore??????????????????????????????? Now I laughed at Happy Gilmore but we are talking about Clerks, a movie that spawned 3 sequals.

And where is the button to blow up a matchup. In the comedies is subjective catagory: Borat and Anchorman. Two movie I could not like less.

I love Old School but how is it thrashing The Big Lebowski?

Also Wedding Crashers was hilarious. The football game was hilarous, the quail hunt was hilarious, and Chaz was hilarious. Sorta slowed down at the end but that happens in all comedies when they have to tie the story together.

Good point about the Final Destination series. However I enjoyed: Mallrats, Jay & Silent Bob, and Clerks 2. Guess we could throw Chasing Amy into that list as well. Maybe Dogma, as well, but I did not like that one as much.

I voted for Clerks, because I think it's the better film. Happy Gilmore was really funny, but I liked the more adult humor in Clerks better.

agreed. i just wasn't alive for the whole Mel Brooks era and i simply don't get it. those movies just don't make me laugh. Dumb and Dumber was a very touching tale under an extremely stupid funny front. it was very very funny.

I love Dumb and Dumber, but Holy Grail is a notch above it, JMHO.

I don't get the love for Ferris Bueller. It's a dated, campy 80's movie. I don't even know if I'd call it a "comedy", at least not in the same vein. as the rest of the 64 bracket.

It's not in the same ballpark as the other top 8. Hell, it's not even in the same league.

I just don't get it.
