I like this choice, though I've seen Reynolds in things other than just romantic comedies.

I think if anyone has watched The Nines you can seen what Reynolds is capable of. Thought he was pretty good in Smokin' Aces too.

Hal Jordan has a bit of cockiness behind him and a good sense of humor. I think Reynolds can pull off all the aspects of the character.

And I recall how underwhelmed people were when Heath Ledger was chosen to play The Joker. I know I thought it was a horrible choice when announced. How wrong I was.

But I like this one. He looks like Hal. He's int he right age bracket. He just needs to show no fear.

Reynolds is one of my favorite actors, i got kind of a man crush on him. he was hilarious in Waiting, Van Wilder, Blade:Trinity, and really good in Smokin Aces

I kind of agree with this. I think Green Lantern is a pretty awesome hero, but is he really famous enough or cool enough as a personality to pull off a successful movie? When they half ass these things, they end up being terrible.

Of course, I thought Iron Man was kind of the same thing. Not such a major hero that everyone knew who he was, but big enough that anyone who ever read a comic did. And that turned out pretty good.

Almost think they should deviate from a superhero-type movie to be more of a sci-fi movie for this.
