So they're turning it into a terrible romantic comedy?

I like this choice, though I've seen Reynolds in things other than just romantic comedies.

I think if anyone has watched The Nines you can seen what Reynolds is capable of. Thought he was pretty good in Smokin' Aces too.

Hal Jordan has a bit of cockiness behind him and a good sense of humor. I think Reynolds can pull off all the aspects of the character.

And I recall how underwhelmed people were when Heath Ledger was chosen to play The Joker. I know I thought it was a horrible choice when announced. How wrong I was.

But I like this one. He looks like Hal. He's int he right age bracket. He just needs to show no fear.

Reynolds is one of my favorite actors, i got kind of a man crush on him. he was hilarious in Waiting, Van Wilder, Blade:Trinity, and really good in Smokin Aces

Great quote summing up his acting...

I'd also like to throw in Chaos Theory, kind of a romatic comedy, but on a deeper/better level

And I am still on record of thinking this, along with the Thor movie, are the dumbest Superhero movie ideas since Catwoman and Punisher.

Screw Ryan Reynolds...why didn't they go after Aqua-Man himself, Vinnie Chase?

Is Hollywood that devoid of creativity that they have to go and pluck a third rate cartoon about a guy with a ring that can make big green fists to smash aliens?

That was a rhetorical question. After a summer of lame remakes and lamer sequels, we already know the answer. And if we didn't already, I have four words that prove it beyond doubt.

I kind of agree with this. I think Green Lantern is a pretty awesome hero, but is he really famous enough or cool enough as a personality to pull off a successful movie? When they half ass these things, they end up being terrible.

Of course, I thought Iron Man was kind of the same thing. Not such a major hero that everyone knew who he was, but big enough that anyone who ever read a comic did. And that turned out pretty good.

Almost think they should deviate from a superhero-type movie to be more of a sci-fi movie for this.

Comic Book Movies are either awesome:

Watchmen
Hellboy 1 & 2
Sin City
The Dark Knight

Or Total garbage

The X-Men Trilogy
Wolverine
Spiderman Trilogy
Punisher
The Fantasic Four (I just threw up typing the word "Fantasic" in relation to those movies)
Spawn
