Yes. 'The Fortune Cookie' is Jack Lemon and Walter Matthau and Lemon is a photographer who is knocked down, injured and ends up with his brother-in-law Matthau as his injury attorney.

Might be sacrilege but I liked it better than 'The Odd Couple'.

I didn't think Major League was good. Just never liked it and thought the quality was poor.

The baseball scenes were horrible and the cast was was the Indians of actors: they were pretty damn bad with a decent performance or two thrown in.

Couple great lines but IMO not near enough top 10 for me.

'Young Frankenstein' is an excellent call though. The scene when he's approached by the constable while standing near the hearse is just outstanding. Gene Hackman as the blind man, "It's pronounced EYE-gore".

Good call.

So many great lines in Young Frankenstein.

"Werewolf!" "There wolf!, There door."

"My grandfather used to work for your grandfather. Of course the rates have gone up."

"What knockers!" - "Thank you, Doctor."

Maybe Mel Brooks' best, though Blazing Saddles is pretty great.

I've always found Major League to be fairly funny, even if it wasn't for the Indians. Maybe it's nto top ten, but there are a lot of funny movies out there.

Like Shawn of the Dead, loved Hot Fuzz. Guess since zombie movies and horror flicks aren't my thing I don't find it as good as Hot Fuzz - a great send up and homage of bad action films.

Here are my favorites:

1.)The Big Lebowski- My favorite movie, hands down

2.)Animal House

3.)Dumb and Dumber

4.)Airplane- "Bobby, do you like gladiator movies?"

5.)The Jerk- I know some people on this board arent Steve Martin fans and although he is slightly overrated, seeing him as this dorky looking white guy saying "I was born a poor black child" gets me every time.

6.)Monty Python and the Holy Grail- What a great idea for a film

7)Duck Soup- The Marx Brothers at their finest. My favorite line: "Gentlemen, Chicolini here may talk like an idiot, and look like an idiot, but don't let that fool you: he really is an idiot."

8.)Austin Powers- The first one always cracks me up. Some great one liners in that film

9.)The Pink Panther- The original, Peter Sellers was a genius and it should be a crime to try to remake his movies.

10.)Harvey- Jimmy Stewart at his finest, Elwood P Dowd is a great character
“Baseball is like church. Many attend but few understand.”- Wes Westrum

"The future is like a Japanese game show, we have no idea whats going on." - Tracy Jordan

No ... this seems like a logical next bracket though.

I'll try and put together a list of 32 (64?) over the next week or so, work on seeding ... do it in this thread. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The Three Amigos was pretty damn funny.

Dude,

Just make sure you include Brian's Song and Something for Joey on that list. Laughed my balls off after each of those.

Early thoughts. Tried to use consensus on here, also IMDB. Leaving out two movies. The Hangover (too new) and Major League, which would go too far, just based on the fact it's about the Indians.

1 seeds - Caddyshack, Animal House, Airplane, Blazing Saddles

2 seeds - Vacation, Dumb & Dumber, Wedding Crashers, Old School

3 seeds - Borat, Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Christmas Vacation, Office Space

4 seeds - Blues Brothers, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Slap Shot, Clerks

5 seeds - Ghostbusters, Spinal Tap, Fletch, Happy Gilmore

6 seeds - Anchorman, Pink Panther, 40 Year Old Virgin, Stripes

7 seeds - Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Naked Gun, The Big Lebowski

8 seeds - Johnny Dangerously, Trading Places, Kingpin, Austin Powers

9 seeds - Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, Tommy Boy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up

10 seeds - The Odd Couple, The Producers, The Wedding Singer, Mallrats

11 seeds - Weird Science, Ruthless People, Swingers, A Fish Called Wanda

12 seeds - Young Frankenstein, Shaun of the Dead, Superbad, Coming To America

13 seeds - The Waterboy, The Bad News Bears, The Jerk, Hot Fuzz

14 seeds - Stepbrothers, Smokey & The Bandit, Burn After Reading, Annie Hall

15 seeds - The Fortune Cookie, Arthur, Billy Madison, Tropic Thunder

16 seeds - Real Genius, Spaceballs, Airplane II, Super Troopers

Why leave Hangover off? Because it is fresh in people's minds? I'd put them as a 3 seed, at a minimum. Its an instant classic

People either haven't seen it yet, or will overvalue it slightly because they just saw it. Doing these brackets for 2-3 years now, you can kinda see the patterns that evolve.
