This better not suck, because this entire summer has been nothing but crap (except for Star Trek), and I'm really looking forward to seeing Johnny Depp kick ass in this*

*Said with the rotten taste of "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" still in my mouth...what a shitty movie that was.

This is the next movie I'm planning on seeing in theatres on its release day.

Great.... Bought tix for the late showing at the Movie Tavern. Atleast I can order beer while watching it. Doesn't surprise me, Depp is good, Bale is a stiff, only once was he really good and that was American Psycho.

I enjoyed it, thought it was pretty well done actually. I would think if you like Johnny Depp, then you'll like this movie.

I like Johnny Depp and I like the subject of the movie but as a whole the film wasn't as good as I was expecting

it had some good moments and I was happy to see a good British actor(since Bale isn't really that good) in it who played Baby Face Nelson.

While there I saw the trailer for Inglorius Basterds

looks good and looks like it will (in true Tarantino style) have many comical moments in it as well (I didn't know Brad Pitt was in it however)

Unfortunatley it looks like it's going to be totally historically inaccurate

I didn't think it was too bad, Depp was good. Bale proved once again he's a stiff. The problem with Depp, like in Fear and Loathing, he is too small to play the role.

I will forever love Bale for his scene in American Psycho where he kills Paul Owen
he was good in the Machinist too but that is all

Though he was outdone by Russell Crowe, I absolutely loved 3:10 to Yuma and thought Bale was good in that. Same thing with The Prestige, another movie that I enjoyed. I don't have any problems with Christian Bale.

At least you knew to include John Dillinger in your title JB, otherwise was a waste of a thread idea.

Just caught it this afternoon.

Left me wanting more even though it was 15 minutes too long.

Limited dialogue and I only seemed to feel Depp's performance. I think the Bale character was poorly handled and lacked any story behind him. Knowing what happened later in his life I feel like they missed his story completely. Brilliant directing and terrific justice to the period, still just slightly above average.
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. We players love them, too. I feel a sense of accomplishment playing here, we are a special breed of football players with a great opportunity." ~ tOSU LB Brian Rolle
