Joe Buck v. Artie Lang

Unread postby e0y2e3 » Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:47 am

DVR'd the premier of Joe Buck Live on HBO after catching twitters from PTI and Simmons calling the Artie Lang/Joe Buck duel an early Christmas gift and demanding 24/7 coverage. Frankly this is must see TV.

NSFW though (language):

Nice to see Buck in a different forum because I think he is god-awful as an announcer. But seems like a pretty funny and witty guy, still hate him though

Artie Lange isnt dead yet?
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

Buck's premier was big time between this and him getting Farve (interview booked last Feb) to pretty much admit that if he can throw post surgery he is going to take the Vikings deal.

I love the Howard Stern show and I listen to a couple hours of it total every day, but I just can't stand Artie anymore. He talks too much and sabotages every segment and interview with his insufferable stories and antics. Now it appears he's got no problems going on other people's shows and doing the same thing.

And unfortunately, since he stopped doing heroin and started losing some weight, there's less chance of him dropping dead.

I gotta agree with you here, since he has gotten clean (although he sounds more ramped up than ever lately to me) he has too much presence on the Stern show, and his humor is just angry and loud now. If he could dial it back a bit he'd be fine.

I heard the Buck thing on Stern this a.m., I didn't think it was all that great.

I think Joe Buck is the best announcer around.

I think Harry and Bronco fan are right.

I listen every day, all day to Stern in the car. Nothing else on in there unless the kids are with me and then we go away from 100-101.

Artie's much more venemous and mean spirited since 3 moths ago. Dude is kicking heroine. He's fighting that fight and still facing whatever anguish that caused him to go the heroine route in the first place. He's fucked up in the head right now. I love the fact he's lucid as opposed to napping during the show but it's part of the process of getting himself right. Anyone n show biz who books him and tells you they had no idea they were getting him like this is either terrible at their job and not deserving to have it OR lying through their teeth.

Listened to the Buck clips, and the Stern Show this morning. I thought Artie was funny on the Buck show. But it was Stern Show funny, which is not everyone's cup of tea. Artie gives and receives a ton of ball busting on the radio, and he brought that with him to HBO. It was edgy and uncomfortable for everyone, and that was entertaining.

Did anyone notice when he threw his cigarette into Paul Rudd's coffee cup? Rudd just about took a drink before Artie stopped him.
