Well I can tell you first hand (actually second-hand) that he is into comics. One of the guys who works for me is a comic book writer in his spare time. He's been working with Gene Simmons on a set of comics that they did release and you can see here:

i still have one of those kiss comic books from the late 70's. they supposedly put vials of their own blood into the ink that was used to print the books up.
