I stumbled on this, one of my all time favorites, I had to post it here. Hillbilly Bears was another good one, with the mumblin dad.

You don't realize how much cartoon watching you're going to be doing when you have young kids.

A lot of cartoons suck. Most actually. But there are some that are great. My favorites.

Tom & Jerry- The violence is staggering. And when you think about it, the premise of the show is crazy ... these two just trying to torture each other, episode after episode.

Sponge Bob - For years, I never understood all the hub bub about this show. Then I started watching it. Patrick is one of the greatest animated characters of all time. Love Sponge Bob.

Scooby Doo - Gotta love Scooby and Shaggy. Daphne is hot.

Flintstones - One of my favorites as a kid that I've grown to re-love.

Wonder Pets - Ming Ming is the shiznit. Love cartoons geared at 3-4 year olds, with jokes only adults could understand.

Looney Tunes - The Bugs/Roadrunner scraps are legendary. Love Foghorn Leghorn.

That's what makes alot of them great, is the fact that some do mimic someone we have known or know in real life.....

I think I worked with Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam once.... :lmfao:

Cartoons in general were made for adults back in the day, not made for kids. I'm talking about even Looney Toons/Merry Melodies.

Foghorn/Leghorn, Bugs/Elmer/Tortoise, Roadrunner/Coyote all classic main character with nemesis action.

Even Superfriends was great, with the Legion of Doom were the better years but still a great Saturday morning cartoon, same with Tarzan.

Yes. Sponge Bob is hilarious.

Really? I never really sat down and watched this show. It was only on in the background in the morning because I'd fall asleep to Nick at Nite, but would wake up to Nick Jr. Wonder Pets has adult jokes hidden in it like Sponge Bob?

Living in the real south has given me new appreciation for Foghorn Leghorn. Along with Coyote and Roadrunner, Bugs Bunny those are my faves. Although it wasn't a cartoon there was a show on in the late 60's early 70's called Ultraman..looking back it was hilarious even to an eight year old to watch the dubbed characters.

popeye - i'm strong to the fin-ich, cause i eats me spinach, i'm popeye the sailor man, toot-toot. good stuff.

i always liked the running gag with wimpy who said "i will gladly pay you tuesday for a hamburger today".

i'm still trying to figure what popeye saw in olive oyl??? she was one ugly chick. why he didn't just let bluto have her is beyond me as she certainly wasn't anyone to fight over.

by the way, exactly what was "eugene the jeep"???

and the best villian ever created in cartoon history was "alice the goon". hee-hee!!!

Spongebob is an all time classic. Mr. Krabs is the man! Like Donny said earlier, some cartoons are written for an adult audience, and I believe this one has its moments.
