The AI in the Negreanu game "Stacked" was supposed to be cutting edge stuff a couple years back and it all keeps getting better. But aside from continuously pushing the envelope from an AI and gaming standpoint, I'm not sure what this does for poker is all that good. Plenty of cases out there with techno geeks getting rich having a computer play their on-line bankrolls.
It'd suck sitting down on-line with one of the players being a machine that never got tired and was always using and processing information about each and every hand/bet made.
Of course, it would be a tremendous waste of time to use that computer at the low limits I play. So I'm feeling safe.
I still think poker, at the highest levels, is a feel and instinct game.
And at the lower levels there are plenty of morons that you and the computer can take advantage of.
But hopefully it makes those video games even more realistic and more enjoyable.
