It was a night for the dramatic. Sports Predictor won with the Rays who were down to their last strike, bases empty and trailing by a run in the 9th. Three striaght hits of Fernando Rodney and the game was tied. Rays win 4-3 in 10 innings. Earl nabs a critical win with the Indians in a game that took about 10 hours to complete due to multiple rain delays. Also, Rebel pulled off the unthinkable - a win with the Pirates. Actually the Pirates are a near .500 baseball club at home.

11 players are still alive for the top prize. Those with 9 & 10 losses are on life support and need a miracle. Three contenders with 8 losses need alot of help. Bottom line - Peeker, Earl and Rebel control their destiny as we head to the final week of the poll.

The 'Final Weekend' of Phase III is upon us. The Phase ends on Monday, September 27 and there is a real possibility of a tie breaker deciding the winner on Monday. The 3 main contenders (Earl, SportsPredictor & Peeker) have consistently been near the top of the standings during the past few years. Phase II will last 50 days. Starts on Monday, August 9, 2010. Last day of selections will be Monday, September 27 2010.

That being said, Peeker is not a fan of rain these last 4 days.
