Amazing. The Mets get washed last night! This is why ... very dangerous to go into the final days of this pool needing to make a pick every day.

Lead Man had the Mets last night. Which means he has two teams left. And just one day. He will only make 29 picks ... but still has a chance to win this thing.

He must choose today between the Mets in game 1 of the doubleheader, Mets in game 2 of the doubleheader, or the Brewers. If he wins with that pick ... then, the tiebreaker is applied between him and Earl. So Lead will have to pick all the games today, and designate his one main final pick for the phase.

Lead loses that pick .. Earl is the Phase II champ.

Carolina Blue takes the New York Mets - Game 2 - 7/30.

The Lead Man prevails again. His third title in five phases, as he also won phases I & II last season.

And what a finish it was. Lead rolled the dice and took his final two picks into the final two days of the phase ... and was almost killed by a Wednesday night rain out in NY, erasing his Mets pick. Lead then needed to not only win with his pick on the final day, but also win the tiebreaker.

And he did. Winning the pool despite only picking 29 games, and putting up a stellar 23-6 mark. A half game behind the best ever record, set by me in Phase III last year when I went 24-6.

Lead hit with the Brewers and Yovanni Gallardo, who rolled over the red hot Nats. And went 10-2 in all 12 of yesterday's game, besting Earl's 8-4 mark.

Another fun phase. I love this pool. Look for info on Phase III shortly. Will begin in 2-3 weeks.
