Time for another 'Just Better than Coin Flip' selection. And a road one at that. Such are the times we find ourselves in.

Cincinnati Reds for Wednesday, May 13th.

GHCS picked the Rangers today, 5/13 to win on "5/12" /\ /\. :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:

While I can think of a few contestants who could still actually lose employing this method, it sure would make for a hectic tie-breaker situation at the end of the phase. :bag: :nanner:

And no, I'm not serious. Well, I'm serious that a few people might actually screw it up but not that it shouldn't count as GHCS clearly meant the Rangers for today.

Well, to be honest, it's a coin with one of the game's better young starters going up against a free swinging team that brought up a kid from AA to make his first start on one side of it. So it pretty much had Cincy on both sides based on the teams I have left.

And it's not over yet given the bullpen meltdowns that have plagued Phase 1. But they're giving me a shot.

12 in a row. And just 5 wins away from a 24-6 finish, 17 game win streak, and a tie for the greatest record in Pick 30 history. At this point, I am willing to sacrifice the $600 potential winnings and cheer for history to be made.

My friends, there is no stopping Brian McPeek. I personally witnessed the man eat three 72 oz steaks in one hour Tuesday night. He spent the first 45 minutes having sex with the waitress.

I think President Roosevelt said it best when he said, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself. And Brian McPeek."

The man is on a roll.

Another 11-3 day for the field, and the 11 wins came with 6 different teams. Big wins for Peeker, Pipe, and the Fight Dr solidified their spots at the top of the standings. Mr Burns, cpawonder, and GodHatesClevelandSports also got big wins that kept them alive. Eck dropped another one, and is falling fast. Swerb, seeing a rough board, took the night off and it backfired, as he lost half a game to most of the top of the board.

Six teams have the night off, 12 matchups to choose from tonight. The Cubs are the only big favorite, and none of the top competitors have them left.

This is where the sledding gets tough.

Unless you are Brian McPeek.

3-8 day for the field, which saw 4 of the top 6 in the standings take the day off, including Peeker643, who simply cannot miss on a pick right now.

Lead Pipe took a loss with the Marlins, as Prince Fielder hit a go ahead home run before the Brewers bullpen finished off the fish. Also taking tough losses were GodHatesClevelandSports, who fell with the Royals ... and Eckersley, who is falling apart after a very strong start, losing 4 straight to just about kill his chances.

Three competitors took what were likely fatal 10th losses. jpd1224 with the Mariners, Earl17 with the Rays, and cpawonder with the Tigers, whose bullpen destroyed another fantastic start from Justin Verlander.

Peeker, the Fight Dr, and Bill Henry ... all can notch that magical 20th win tonight.

Full slate tonight. Some sizable favorites, and good spots for shitty teams. Should be an active and crucial night.

Only one left (besides the Fight Dr, who took the Nats) with the Giants.

Gimme Timmy Lincecum at home against Livian Hernandez tonight.

The San Francisco Giants for Swerb on Friday.

Correct play for Peeker tonight? The Pirates. I say he errs and goes with the Braves, and ends the streak.

I'm taking today off to watch kids play soccer.

And because the matchups for my available teams just blow.

Pass.

Edit: The kids are mine, btw. I'm not some twisted freak or masochist who actually likes soccer (or kids for that matter).

Edit to add remaining teams:

ChicagoWS LAAngels
Atlanta Pittsburgh

Good, I was worried for a second. Anyone in this country who prefers soccer over our big three sports is a hipster, IMO.
