Swerb wrote:By far the most competitive cycle we've seen. This thing is wide open with 2 weeks left. And dripping with story lines.
How can we not start by talking about McPeek. 10 in a row to go from 7-6 to 17-6, and in a three way tie for the lead with seven selections and 14 days remaining. Will he lose again? Can anyone stop this freight train's momentum?
Then you've got the Lead Man, winner of Phases I & II last year. Lulls the field to sleep by appearing disinterested in the first couple weeks of cycle one, only to emerge as the feared assassain we all know him to be, going 10-2 in his last 12 to ascend to fourth place, behind the three way tie atop the standings. Me, in that tie, as the defending champ of '08 Phase II, which I won with a record shattering 24-6 record. And then a host of competitors with 7 or 8 losses, all whose margins for error are slim, but victory still attainable.
Field went 3-2 yesterday, including wins for the red hot Peeker and Pipe with the Giants, who won a frenetic affair with the Nats 11-7, despite two more home runs for Ryan Zimmerman, the game of baseball's next superstar. eagles24 tried to pick the White Sox, but already had done so.
Full slate tonight. About 8 favorites of -140 or greater to choose from. Could be a big day for the pool, with many of the contenders trying to notch another win. Every win you can put on the board the rest of the way out is a big one. Losses are like daggers in the heart.
Six hundred bones and forum pride on the line fellas.

Balderdash.
The maloik attempt is the maloik attempt regardless of how well written it may be. The guy should be ashamed of himself.
I didn't see it coming either. Not with Rich leading the 'Wedge's Head' Parade and building the gallows.

11 in a row tonight Peeks. I'm feelin it for ya. No way you lose with how hot you are right now.
My Rockies pick was just a diversionary tactic. Piggybacking your last seven picks so we can take it to the tiebreaker at 24-6.

And although JD made some poor decisions in regards to alcohol and not fueling up his airplane, the Lead Man is going with him on this one. After all, he was comfortable around the Muppets.
The Rockies for Tuesday, please.

Peeker is 15-1 since his 3-5 start.....that is impressive.

Action Boy, at this point, I would put it right up there with the invention of the automobile and John Wooden winning 10 titles in 12 years with the UCLA Bruins in the late 60's and early 70's. I'm a greater man for having known McPeek, and there's no way he loses another game.Action Boy wrote:Swerb - any early indication on when Phase II may start? Thanks.
2 week break is the norm. Have to verify, but think Monday, June 8th.

You should be thankful for Jason Motte and George Sherrill and a couple other blown saves that Action Boy shared with me. This would be ova or Action Boy and me would be PMing about chops. And you still have Oakland, Texas and the Nats left. Let's see how you do playing those 7-2 and 10-6 offsuit hands![]()
BTW- In your results from today you have Lead Pipe winning with the A's. I think he won with the Rockies.
