I am so glad UFC is doing this. I think it shows a lot of good faith, and it is a chance to get some very good young fighters some great press. Free cards like this will do wonders to help get an already successful product an even wider fan base.

I think tito will kick Shamrock's ass, but you can never discount the "one punch knockout" factor, especially because tito's chin has looked questionable at times.

I would love to see grove vs. Herman again too.

Tito is my all-time favorite fighter so that doesn't hurt.
This is actually the 7th Ultimate Fight Night, most cards have been above average.

I disagree about my boy's chin. The only guy really to ever hurt him with just a shot or two is The Iceman Chuck Lidell, who hurts everybody.
Tito will be getting his revenge in December.

They will set up an Ed vs Kendall rematch soon, just like they did with Forrest and Bonnar.

All the guys on the undercard of the TV bouts have awesome potential.

I vowed that I was done buying UFC pay per view after there were a couple of disappointing events including the early stoppage of Ortiz/Shamrock 2. I know the Fight Dr disagrees that it was stopped early, but he is admittedly biased towards his boy Tito. Anyway, the UFC has once again shown they are a class organization by showing this fight for free, so they are winning me back again. Plus I love the reality series so tonight will be great and the price is right!

Not sure why Shamrock wants to do this as he has little chance to win? I did see the weigh-in yesterday and Shamrock was in absolutely phenomenal shape. Possibly the best of his life. He does not look 42. But he is 42. He has no chance tonight unless Ortiz slips on some sweat or something.

Ortiz does have a good chin in my opinion. They only time I recall him getting knocked out was by Liddell, and who hasn’t he knocked out? Griffin hit him with a couple good shots and Ortiz took them. Couture beat up Ortiz for 5 rounds but that was basically a match-up problem for Ortiz. He didn’t get knocked out though.

Stephen A Smith interviewed Ortiz and Shamrock (via satellite) last night on ESPN. It was pretty good. Ortiz basically said he won’t shake Shamrock’s hand after he beats him up this time either. Shamrock says it is a respect thing, basically saying that when a fight is over you go over and shake hands out of respect, not dig a grave. I agree with Shamrock on this. You can use all the intimidation tactics you want before and during a fight. In fact, Tito is a master at this. But you have to respect a guy’s willingness to battle in that ring when it is done.

Smith had Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes on the set live after that. They were also great interviews. Both picked Ortiz in a route and both said they also hate Ortiz!

I thought the 2nd Tito/Shamrock fight should have kept going.
Shamrock is a Hall of Famer and has earned the right to get knocked the f out which he would have.
Tito has only lost once by KO and it was to The Iceman.

As far as the fight tonight, I think we will see a handshake afterwards. Tito respects Ken, he just won't say until tonight.

As far as Shamrock, his face looks 60 from the beatings he has taken. He is in great shape, and always has been. I respect Shamrock A TON for what he has done for the sport, but enough is enough.

I just hope it will be at least a little entertaining like the first meeting. Tito beat his face up for 3 rounds.

First Ortiz/Shamrock fight Shamrock had him rocked pretty hard from a single punch. Had he been able to follow it up he may have won.

That is what the ice man specializes in, following up once he rocks a guy. I love that dude, big swinger with good enough wrestling to keep it off the ground. That is going to be a great fight, Ortiz and Liddell. I'll take the Iceman in that one.

I'm a newbie with the UFC stuff, just got into it about a year ago. Primarily just watch the PPVs with the neighbors, and love them.
