2007: What a year for fights ...

Unread postby swerb » Sun Nov 04, 2007 11:16 am

Simply put, some of the best fights I've seen in my life have taken place here in 2007.

Immediately coming to mind as classics ...

~Pavlik/Miranda
~Pavlik/Taylor
~I.Vasquez/R.Marquez
~Cotto/Judah

Then you throw in ...

~Mayweather/DeLaHoya
~Calzaghe/Kessler
~Hopkins/Winky

Still to come ...

~Cotto/Sugar Shane
~Mayweather/Hatton

Been a big year for boxing. A lot of fun fights to watch. All the weight classes except heavyweight are loaded with big time talent, and all the fights people want to see have been happening.

Hopkins Wright was terrible
Mayweather destroyed De La Hoya in a one sided fight.
I see you're drinking already today.

It has been a great year for BIG name fights, not classics however.
It sure is helping the sport which is awesome to see.

The top four were classics. All absolutely excellent fights. Pavliks two big wins, and then Cotto/Judah and Vasquez/Marquez, I honestly can't remember the last fight I saw as entertaining as those two.

Floyd/Oscar wasn't that bad ... Floyd coming out in the sombrero moved it up a tier.

Theres been great fights every month. Most of them free. Been a great year for boxing.
