Spoon, I definitely agree that from an entertainment aspect UFC is the better product right now. But my one concern is your reference to the judges in boxing. I think UFC could easily head down the same path and may have already started to do so. There is no governing body for UFC. It is one guy making decisions because it is his company. He knows who is more popular and in a tight fight it will be really easy for him to make sure that the new "up and coming" kid wins the decision or the really popular champ who draws in the pay per money holds on to the belt if it goes to the score cards. The structure of UFC reminds me more of the WWE than Boxing. I hope they avoid the trap the boxing fell into but it will be even easier for them to start cheating fighters out of wins than it is for boxing. I mention this because I feel like I have already seen them do it. It was a recent fight for Stephan Bonner. The popular fighter from the UFC's reality show. He is a crowd favorite and was fighting a relativly unknown (or unpopular) Keith Jardine. Anyone who watched that fight knows Jardine won that fight, yet the decision was given to the golden child Bonner making sure not to ruin his path to the next big pay per view. VERY questionable decision. I would just keep an eye out on the judging in your sport. It could go bad really quickly.

As the dollars get bigger ... corruption on some level is almost inevitable. Hopefully UFC will learn some lessons from their boxing counterparts.

The Bonnar fight was bad, I know that(I also had a wager on Jardine)
The one thing with the UFC that might be bad is the judges because they are new to the sport.
I'd like to know the % of fights that go to the scorecards in the UFC. I'll work on it.
Most fights that go the distance have been good on the judges cards so far.
On another note, Dana White doesnt own the UFC if that what you were referring to. He is the President.

WOW what a main event...Gonzaga fucked cro cop up with a leg kick to the dome and knocked him out cold

That was the first time I ever saw Cro Cop fight. I did not get to see very much of him. What a knock out. I was worried Cro Cop was seriously injured for a minute there. It was nice to see he could still speak, not to mention that his leg wasn't dislocated. Did you see it bend back under his own weight when he went out cold! Wow!

The Arloski fight was boring but I don't blame him for fighting that way. The other guy could not touch him. The other fights were interesting match ups and were entertaining. All in all, a pretty good action for a free TV event.

Matt Sera called Matt hughes a dick, whcih was also pretty cool! It will be cool to see them fight as Matt Hughes will be pissed!

Watching Arlovsky fight is getting to be like watching paint dry. I don't blame him for using his striking advantage to avoid Werdum's ground advantage, but it makes for horrible theatre.

It is never fun watching someone play "lawyer ball (playing to not lose, vice playing to win)."

I fell asleep during the introductions to the main event so I missed the knock out. What a bummer. Anyone know if they are going to reair it soon?

Arlovski is getting very boring, I used to look forward to his fights. He had been unimpressive the last few times out.

I was the same about boxing. Boxing was the only reason I had Showtime and HBO, but it's gotten so bad in the last year I dumped both. I miss them, but I don't feel like I'm paying a whore $60 a month for nothing but bad handjobs either.
