Dec 5th, it's on.
Let the shit talking beging.
I have a $50 wager with Swerb on this.

Boxing needs some really good fights to close out the year and this one along with Manny vs Cotto will get it done.

Funny you should post this today, because I watched Pavlik/Taylor 2 last night. I've seen a handful of Kelly's fights, but I haven't seen alot of Williams to this point.

Is there a guy that Kelly has fought up to this point that Williams is comparable to? If not, who is the closest guy that Kelly has fought and what are the differences with Williams? I'm trying to get a feel for this fight, but not having alot of experience with Williams it's a little tough.

Can't wait. A tough fight for Kelly, but one he can win. Different world for Paul fighting a hard hitting legit middle as opposed to fights with Verno Phillips and Carlos Quintana.

A lot of respect for the Ghost for fighting the guy no one wants to fight. Win here would put him right back on top of the world.

Bayou-Nobody close in comparison to the Punisher on Kelly's resume (although the same can be said in reverse just for different reasons).

The last lefty that Kelly fought was Bronco McKart (Kelly was also coming off a long layoff for that fight) in 06. Bronco was a tough fighter and has some similarities to Williams, but for the most part the differences between them is akin to donating blood vs donating a kidney (with Williams being the kidney). For instance Williams has a giraffe neck reach of 82" while Bronco has a more pedestrian 72" reach. Bronco was also in the twilight of his career at that time while Williams is gibbous waxing.

FWIW Kelly struggled with McKart for quite a few rounds and then just overwhelmed him with power shots.

I think just regular HBO, no PPV.

No PPV. HBO.
Niether guy has faced anyone like the other.
Paul is long, very lanky, and throws a ton of punches.
Kelly has great power and is fighting at his natural weight.
A lot of pros and cons for both guys.
Should be fun.
