This has the makings of a awesome awesome card. 2 main events that should be unreal.

BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian (155 pound title fight)
I love both of these guys and skill sets. Florian is easily one of my favorite fighters. He has gotten so much better over the years it's scary. BJ Penn is an icon in the sport. I expect a great showing by both guys.

Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin (Non-title fight)
Silva moves up to 205 for this. What a fight. I see this either being a all out war or Silva destroying Forrest.
Griffin's heart sets him apart from almost every fighter in the game. Silva's striking is the best I have ever seen.

Champ B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian (for UFC lightweight title)
Champ Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin (non-title fight)
Johny Hendricks vs. Amir Sadollah (I'm a huge Hendricks fan)
Ricardo Almeida vs. Kendall Grove
Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellgrino (This has show stealer written all over it)
Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley
John Howard vs. Tamdan McCrory
Thales Leites vs. Alessio Sakara
Dan Cramer vs. Matthew Riddle
George Roop vs. George Sotiropoulos
Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort

As good as Florian has become, I don't think there's any way he can either stand with B.J. or grapple with B.J.

I like Forrest in his fight with Anderson Silva. Silva has never fought anyone with Griffin's size or attitude. I thnk Anderson's going down.

I don't like Josh Neer at all. His fight with Pellegrino promises to get messy, I just hope he's the one on the losing end.

I beg to differ on Florian. BJ is one bad ass, no doubt about that, Florian will test him. I'm not too sure Kenny will get the W but he'll lay it all on line trying to.
I like Neer too, even more now seeing you don't. Just busting balls. I like Pellegrino a lot as well.

Why is the Silva fight not for the title?

It's at 205, not at 185 where he is the champ.

The only person who beats BJ Penn is BJ Penn. If he shows up out of shape or with a poor gameplan he can be beat. I doubt that happens.

I wish the under card was a bit better .. this event seems very top heavy (but what a top it is).

I love the undercard, lots of young talent.
I doubt you'll be let down. No household names, but there will be some great fights. Book it.

Yeah I'll be catching the main even at a bar at the very least, probably going to split it with my boy but he hates Forest Griffith and is being an asshat/refusing to split it (I'll break him) and I am not staying at my place to get it on my own.

I talked my wife into letting me order it at the homefront as long as we get some friends to chip. Everyone I've invited so far has said yes....looks like a perfect Saturday night of beer and UFC

Decent card, would have liked to see a few more fights but decisions will do that.
Silva and Penn = Beasts
Forrest got destroyed and i'm glad.

Silva was just sick Saturday night....I had him winning going into the fight, but he just toyed with Forrest.

Question for you Fight Dr.....Is there even a remote possibility of GSP putting on weight to take on Silva? These two guys are just destroying everyone thrown at them, and I don't see either of them losing for awhile.

Also, if this fight were to happen, would St. Pierre be able to hold his own, or would it be a GSP/Penn situation where it's just too much weight for GSP, and not a good idea?

GSP could beat a lot of middleweights. But there is no way he could compete with Silva. Silva's reach advantage and lightning fast striking would make it almost impossible for GSP to take Silva down, which is the only way he would ever have a prayer of winning.

Plus there is talk of Silva abandoning his 185 belt in order to fight more 205 guys. Personally I don't see the reason for this as long as Machida is champ, as Silva refuses to fight his training partner.

I think GSP could hang with anyone but I don't think he can beat Silva. I would love to see it though.
Silva needs to move up to 205 and clean that division out also. There are a lot of big names for him to fight there.
185 has decent talent but nothing like 205 has.
The aggresive Silva we saw Saturday and in the past might never lose.
