Proven to struggle vs. Spinks??? Proven to NOT want to fight his mandatory vs. Pavlik... He knows he has everything to lose if he fights Pavlik.

He beats Bernard Hopkins twice and had a draw with Winky Wright, 2 top name guys.
Who is on Pavlik's resume that compares to either of those guys?

Losing to Pavik wouldn't hurt his career anymore than vacating the title and fighting another can.
And he didn't struggle vs. Spinks. It was a bad matchup but it's not like Spinks had Taylor BEAT.

For a time there late in the fight, Spinks certainly had him beat on the scorecards.

Had him beat on the scorecards?
You are either crazy or didn't watch the fight.
Spinks landed 82 punches for the entire fight.
82
In 12 rounds.

Noone landed many punches. BTW; like I said; one of the judges had Spinks winning the fight; as did HBO.

If you had Spinks winning, you don't know boxing, plain and simple.
Here is the bottom line:
Pavlik won and deserves a title shot.
Taylor is the champ and earned the belt.
They should fight and settle it in the ring.
The sad part is, it might not happen.
That is the state of boxing and it's a damn shame.
