Boxing Returns to North Olmsted, OH

Cleveland, OH - April 7, 2009 - The West Side Boxing Club, in association with Kincaid Godhard Promotions, is bringing boxing back to the St. Clarence Hall in North Olmsted, Ohio on May 9, 2009. Some of Cleveland’s top amateur Golden Glove fighters will be featured. 10+ great bouts, including a women’s bout and 3 high school championship bouts are scheduled.
In one of the feature bouts of the evening, fan favorite, Brian “The Korean Brawler” Park from Cleveland’s West Side Boxing Club takes on an opponent to be determined. Park, the 2008 Golden Glove novice champion, is coming off an impressive third round TKO in his last fight.
Other top Golden Glove fighters tentatively scheduled for this show include Wilkins Santiago (Freddy’s Boxing Gym/Lorain), Derrick Moss (West Side Boxing Club/Cleveland), and Stipe Miocic (Strongstyle MMA/Independence). These fighters are currently competing in the 2009 Golden Glove tournament that is underway. They are tentatively scheduled, as they may be continuing along in the tournament.
An exciting undercard featuring other top regional talent is scheduled, including top ranked MMA fighter Jessica Eye (Strongstyle MMA/Independence), who makes her amateur boxing debut.
Three 2009 high school championship bouts are set to take place. Fighters from the following schools are tentatively scheduled to compete: Lorain High School, Valley Forge High School, Cleveland High School, and Normandy High School.
Several sub-novice bouts are also scheduled. These bouts feature first-time fighters, competing in three 1 minute rounds and usually provide some of the more interesting bouts.
The St. Clarence Hall is located at 30106 Lorain Road in North Olmsted, Ohio. Doors open at 6:00PM with the first bout scheduled to start at 7:00PM sharp.
A limited number of tickets, priced at $12 Gen. Adm. /Standing ($15 Door) and $20 Ringside Table Seats ($25 Door), remain on sale to the public.
