Rewatched Darchinyan's absolute beating of Mijares the other night laying in bed at like midnight on one of the Showtime channels. Dude swings punches from the hip. Very entertaining.

Never seen Arce fight. Looking forward to this one.

More and more I watch of the lower weight classes, the more I enjoy them.

Any word on when Israel Vasquez plans to fight again after his eye surgery?

Vasquez is "eyeing" a return in April I believe.

Arce has been on a lot of undercards and is a solid fighter. He's been in some wars and is a showman. He came to the ring on a horse once I think.

Darchinyan is tough. A small guy with a ton of KO power.
It's going to be a good one.

Gus Johnson showed yet again he is garbage. He called the fighters the wrong name AT LEAST 5 times.

Gutty effort by Arce to make it through 11. At the outset, looked as if it would be a miracle if he made it through the 3rd.

I agree. Darchinyan is too sloppy. Polished fighter like IV will make him pay a lot worse for some of the holes in his mechanics/defense.

My mind says its a huge leap up in weight for Darchinyan Vic also has a suspect chin. I also think Vasquez holds the edge in power, skill, and speed. If this fight goes down I think Vasquez would KO him brutally.

But to play devils advocate everyone said Cotto would beat the hell out of Margarito, then everyone though Pavlik would KO B-Hop. Most boxing "experts" were also convinced Mijares would box Darchinyan's head off, then there was the whole Oscar is going to KO Pacman, and don't forget Mosley turning back the clock against Margarito. My point? Its a great time to be an underdog in boxing.
