My kingdom for Tiger in the final three groups on Sunday.

I thought that compartmentalizing his years of indiscretions and floating them out to Sea like an Okinawan funeral would be the marketing scheme of the decade. It would be tough, but it could be done. Now, I see that plan has been trumped by this direct spinning his behavior for profit. It's kind of surreal.

That Tiger commercial is freaky, but I am glad to see him get what seemed like all cheers. The guy didnt do anything to the public. He embarassed the shit out of his wife, kids and himself. He is immoral not criminal.

Last year's British Open Sunday was one of the most enjoyable afternoons of golf in a long time thanks to Tom Watson. Only thing I can recall recently that tops it was Rocco vs Tiger at 2008's U.S. Open. Here's hoping Watson (and Couples for that matter) are still on page one of the leaderboard come this Sunday afternoon.

Tiger is changing right before our eyes.

His post round interview is a good example, he was a bit more cheery in his replies, a bit more open to standing there being asked specifics about the play today, and he gave the slightest bit of increased detail to how he played.

The field best watch out b/c if he ends tomorrow's round with a lead, it could be over early Sunday.

LOL, maybe not, after his little outburst.

Interesting start to this Sunday, Tiger very sloppy, the leader Westwood giving one back on hole 1 and Phil staring a great chance to take the sole lead on 2, and screws up. Right now you have to love Couples chances with his laid back demeanor and the two good shots he has hit early to prop up his confidence.

Unfreakinreal what happened to Phil. In the middle of a back stroke on his birdie putt @ 2 a leaf or something landed directly in his line to the hole. He didn't notice, who would, and he putts the ball and it struck the object redirecting the ball off line, probably would have made the putt, it look good when it left the putter.

WTF.

Man would I love to see Couples post -11/-12. Big par putt for Tiger on #3 to keep him alive.

Westwood wins IMO. Its his time.

Classic.

Tiger then rips off 3 straight holes of under par golf.

You know better Rich.

The 11th might prove to be the difference maker toady, Tiger bogeys so the scores Lee and Phil post on that hole might make or break the tournament for said 3 golfers.

Great Tournament.

Phil's story is much much better than Tiger's.

So was Watson's, Couples, Westwoods. etc.

Jim Nantz saying Tiger "managed a 69 through all of this" is my favorite sports moment of 2010 hands down.

Not so sure about all that, each is of a completely different context.

The one thing that can be said for sure about Tiger is, he is back. You can tell just by his post tournament interview. He's not happy with a 4th place finish, he was literally a few shots away from being 13 or 14 under, yet we look at his weekend as being a crappy performance. Scary to think he is still better than 95% of the field with so little time on the course.

Meanwhile Phil is rarely given the credit he probably deserves heading into these big tournaments, almost as if him winning one of these is an after thought.

Good win for Lefty.

I find it satisfying that while Mickelson took a ton of shit for his dedication and his 'family first' attitude toward golf while Tiger was reaping hundreds of millions pretending to be some paragon of virtue and focus, that it's Mickelson wearing another green jacket standing next to his wife and family while Tiger heads back to God knows where to hit more balls and re-define his game.

There were many players who knew what was going with Woods and his hypocrisy. Glad to see it turned out the way it did.

Bill Simmons BS Report podcast with Jim Nantz this week is awesome follow up to this year's Masters. Don't delete this podcast before listening to it.

Nantz has come off as a bit hokey and full of himself, but this interview is great and I like him more having heard this. Good stuff.
