I will be working as a transporation captain responsible for getting players from the airport / hotel and to the course. Looking foward to meeting these players. As a little bonus I get free admission to the event if I'm not working. The camera will definiately be going with me to the course. That and I get to drive around in Benz's when I'm driving to palyers around.

last year at this time they were running ads looking for volunteers to work at the event. I was going to do it but then saw that you had to PAY $120. Couple that with missing 3 days of work and no way that's worth it.

Sounds like a sweet gig for Marty though.

Yep, had to pay $115 but that gets you a polo, visor, windbreaker and access to the games when not working. Cleared it with the better half first. I figure if I can get some good shots during practice, maybe at the end I can get them printed and autographed.

For some of the jobs though don't you work throughout the entire event? Say at concessions, are you just handing out bottles of water the whole time, or do you actually get to spend some of the time catching the action out on the links?

I only have to work four shifts totaling 20 hours. The rest of the time I'm at the course observing if I decide to do that. I signed up to drive the golfers around before and after the days activities. So once I'm done driving I do what I want.

I scored free tickets to the Practice Round tomorrow. I am going to hit it up, see if I can get some pictures and autographs. I am really pumped about this since I have never been to a PGA event.
