Another Tressel Moment

This week Terrelle Pryor's dad passed away...just a few days after Pryor's advisor/mentor/friend Ted Sarniak died.

It is reported by Bill Greene at Scout that Jim Tressel took time off from his job at Akron and flew to California to be with TP. Instead of just "being there for him", Tressel decided to BE THERE for him.

JT can be rightly criticized for being overly loyal to his players. Doing that cost him his job, and brought embarrassment and sanctions to OSU. What you can't say is that he was a "fair weather friend".

This is who he is.

In general he was a good dude. I have some pretty good Tressel stories too from my days in the Marines at OSU that I will keep to myself. He was a stand up dude when the Columbus, OH, Marine Reserve Unit (L co. 3/25) was devastated in Iraq in 2005, they lost 16 guys in one deployment.... basically 1 in 10 guys that went did not come back. Tressel and his team were awesome to those families and the guys that were wounded.
