I still think the guy who has a great shot at breaking the single season TD record, running for 1700+ yards and his team lost 2 games, both on last minute chucks gets my vote.

Gotta go with RG3.

That Baylor team wins like four games without him. Single most important player to his teams final win/loss on the season.

Ball also has the most impact of any of those guys in terms of conference games. RGIII had a few blowouts to pad his stats. Luck lost his big game. Richardson was shutdown a couple times in conference.

Ball's the only one who played in a conference championship game.

Six combined TDs in two games v. Michigan State for Ball. He'd get my vote.

Is this thread about who deserves it, or how we think the vote is going to go to.

Cause I think Luck had this vote won at the start of the season, unless he did something to lose it, which I don't think he did.

I will say this, I really wouldn't get bent if any of this years finalists won it.

My thought too.

Can justify any of them winning.

I kinda had this in thought.

Think about it. RG3 almost lead Baylor to a BCS GAME.

Honey Badger may have been amazing, but you take him off LSU and they could still very well be in the BCS Title game at this very moment.

Is there a VORP formula for football?

Does that mean Luck would have done appreciably worse in RG3's shoes? Not sure about that...

No matter, I agree with your choice, RG3 would be mine.

But I can honestly say I also agree that I wouldn't be offended at any of them winning, can't remember too many years like that either.

Fine.'''

You're right about that, he was the most important player to his team, and I guess that should figure into it. But the trophy is supposed to go to the player who had the best year, right? I have a hard time discouning other players for the simple fact that their team would have still been good without them. A STRONG case can definitely be made to RG3, but my vote is going to Ball.

I'll probably change my mind 5 times before the ceremony.

I cannot, via stats alone, decree a superior season between Ball and RG3. Hell, even Richardson on just a stat basis (considering SEC supremecy) is up there.

I can decree that no single player won more games for his team than RG3.

That's all I'm thinking here.

And no, I don't believe Baylor is as good with Luck.

Agreed.

But I also do not think Stanford is as good with RG3. They are both in the right places for what they have.

And only one guy, this year, is having an all time record breaking season. That gets my vote.

The media wanted Luck to win it.
The media will still more than likely vote him as the winner.
My vote would be 1. Ball 2. Griffin 3. Luck

Hard for a non-QB to win it, but Ball would get my vote.

stiffarmtrophy.com , a site that has correctly predicted the last nine straight Heisman winners says it's all but over. Griffin will win it.

Money has been absolutely pouring in on RGIII in the betting market for the last few days.

Seems to be a foregone conclusion on RGIII. Weird that places are even taking bets on it when the votes have already been cast.

Someone needs to explain to me, without using the initials SEC, how in the hell Trent Richardson beats Montee Ball by 600 votes.

More yards, more carries, higher YPC, almost 2x the TD.

More catches. More yards recieving. (I think on these, too lazy to check).

Threw a TD.

Played well in both losses.

My theory is voters care infintely less the farther down the list they go.

I think if you put Richardson and Ball heads up, as the frontrunners, you might have a different vote.

Furls is correct about the hype, ILO, but I think it's magnified in this case cause people are deciding between 3rd and 4th or 4th and 5th, and it's easy just to plug guys in there. I'd be willing to bet many voters analyzed quite a bit more betwenn RG and Green, because it was for all the marbles.

Or I don't know shit about shit.
