Question: better conference A10 or Horizon?

If Butler steps up, may be 3 teams. Detroit is nasty this year. Def the 1 team that scares me in the Horizon, even though we always suck against Butler

Detroit just lost to BG. They have three good (very good) players, and one is out for the year with a torn ACL and another is suspended indefinitely for punching a dude in the face (not his first scrape with the law). Plus their coach is an idiot. Although talented, they were over hyped at the beginning of the year and I doubt they live up to it.

Big win last night for CSU. Two great defensive teams that really got after it. The wins against Vandy, St. Bonnies and Kent will payoff all year for the Vikes. Those are three good teams that will rack up a lot of good wins.

Three games in three days coming up for CSU now in Rhode Island against Hofstra, Boston U and Rhode Island. Win all three and we're ranked.

P.S. Elton Alexander and the POS PD turned a sold out game between two top 30 teams that played great defense into an article (and headline) about a disappointing game. That's not the game I watched.

I changed the title, hopefully to something less confusing.

But I doubt the fair weather Can't fans will be back until at least tourney time...

Even with Akron's win over Kent, Cleveland State is still in first place in the MAC ;)

The NBA has been brutal this year, absolutely awful...... but CBB has been even worse. Trying to watch Purdue/scUM is like watching a a bunch of drunk midgets build a gazebo.

See you in the Sweet 16?

I haven't seen a volitile thread go this dead this quick since everyone else realized LeBJ does choke on the big one. And Can't fans call me a sore loser.

I still want my beer.

Would they be dumb enough to make us rematch in the Bracketbuster? Probably more likely if you guys were hosting instead of us.

Yeah we're scheduled for a road game for BB. Joe Lunardi has us at New Mex State. We'll find out Monday. I haven't seen any rumors or predictions about CSU. The Can't board thinks they're hosting Drexel.

Our board thinks N. Iowa, but I think Drexel or Buffalo are more likely, I guess we'll see. If we hadn't played you already that would have been the perfect match up.

I wish we had you later. Harney and Gilliam have acclimated with the team now. Some are saying this is the best Zips team ever. We'll have to wait and see about that IMO.

The problem for Akron is gonna be leadership. Almost half the team has been suspended at one point or another for either academic or behavioral reasons. And Zeke Marshall has always been a total headcase who can just completely disappear in games, despite being 7 feet tall. Still, they're 13-7 and blew at least four of those losses in the final minute.

Zips have definitely improved, but CSU has too. Our two best shooters were struggling then and both are hot now. A couple of our freshman have really come on since then and Tim Kamczyc is playing the best ball of his career. I still think it would be a dog fight.

It was brought up on AK's board to have a MAC-Horizon Challenge.

Wouldn't it be cool to have Akron-KSU-CSU-YSU in a tourney? With 1st-2nd place and 3rd-4th place games?

That would :git: .

I would love a challenge, but it can't be an actual tourney with conference teams involved. I know Gary Waters has talked about hosting neutral site "tournaments" between the four NE Ohio teams, with Akron/CSU and Kent/YSU playing one day and then Akron/YSU and Kent/CSU playing the next. Would be cool to see at the Q, but I don't see any of the teams giving up those home games (Along with Butler, the Akron/Kent home game is always our best draw).

OK, Akron has had a rough week, but still heads into Kent tomorrow night with a chance to win the MAC regular season title. Which gives them the 1 seed in Cleveland, and if the worst happens, a spot in the NIT.

Whether they win or lose, they get 1st and 2nd round byes in Ctown.

Kent found it's second wind and is playing great. They did us a favor by beating the Bongcats this week. But now, the showdown.

Akron is a little disorganized right now. And Kent is still pissed about the beat down they got at the JAR. It's going to be fun. Hoping for a great game, no injuries heading into the MAC Daddy, and another Zip smackdown.

Their embrace is about to spill over on Porrini and ignite a near Irrelevant-School Riot ;-)

I remember enjoying that when I was there last year.

And I'll be there watching tonight.

Cooper went nuts. That was an entertaining final. Best of luck to OU in the dance. Upset Georgetown as a #14 seed two years ago. Also took Florida to the buzzer as a #13 seed in 2005.

I hope OU gets a 14 seed and beats scUM's ass. Then they will have been beat by "Ohio."
