Brewster on Steele's All-American Team

Unread postby danwismar » Wed Jun 01, 2011 2:41 pm

Phil Steele's preseason All-America Team is out today, and he has Mike Brewster as the first team center. Nathan Williams also makes the listing as 3rd team defensive end.

Steele has the Buckeyes ranked as the No. 15 team in the country, and has his complete 2-page, detail-packed OSU analysis available as a pdf download for 24-hours only, linked at the site's home page:

Nathan Williams is the 3rd (or 4th) best starting DL OSU has. I am sorry that kid is just not that good. He is undersized and often out of position. John Simon will finish this year as a first team All American and Johnathan Hankins will not get any of the press he deserves because he plays the nose. Those two, not Williams, will anchor an amazing OSU D-Line this year.

Simon and Hankins RUINED the OSU spring game (scrimmage). Both were unblockable and disrupted nearly every play. I prefer Gibson, Gholston and Kudla to Williams.
Coming from a Wolverine, we're the football equivalent of a formerly abused wife of a meth addict who just remarried the safe nice guy. We're just glad we have someone who's aware that it's a rivalry and that tackling on defense is integral. Baby steps.

I like Williams, the only plays I can recall him making were big plays in big spots.
