This was a new site to me, and thought I'd post it here, in addition to adding it to "The Library" in the OSU and College Football Information post.

Pretty good directory of college football players from the Big Six major conference schools going back through their entire histories. Links to individual player pages, with information (though incomplete) on DOB, letters won, awards, years played, "where are they now" type stuff. Similar directory for college basketball at same site.

Rosters for the older teams seem to be more complete (though probably not all-inclusive) than what is available at sports-reference.com CFB site, if you're looking for more obscure players from the old days.

Anyway, thought it might be one to bookmark for when your memory fails you...
