OSU v scum thread

Unread postby FUDU » Fri Nov 26, 2010 4:07 pm

Let's start off with some predictions. Seeing as scum's D is historically bad, can they keep us under 50? If Retard Robinson were to get hurt (decent possibility) can scum even score (without TP's help)? I'm not suggesting a shutout, am I...

I think there will be long stretch of this game where we will be able to do anything we want on O, and our WRs will be open all day.

I see Robinson going down before half and the Buckeyes hammering them throughout, 55-10.

Man, I'd enjoy an 83-10 thrashing of scUM.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting a little apathetic about OSU vs. scUM? There was a time when I would obsess over this game for weeks in advance, now on the eve of the game, I find myself feeling hollow.

It's okay for you guys to feel that way, as long as Tressel and the OSU players don't feel that way. And they don't.

Amen to that.

Just feels like this game is an afterthought. Still think it's UM being simply shitty. In truth they are playing Indiana.

Of course it at least sort of feels that way. Let's face it up until this recent spell of scum suck the game was obviously HUGE in regards to the Big10 but both teams were usually ranked among the top 10-12, lending some kind of weight to the match up nationally.

Now, with scum being consistently unranked come kickoff, it's bleh. While Cooper had his obvious issues in this rivalry OSU NEVER even came close to being as bleh as this michigan team. I mean by all rights in half of Cooper's games v. scum they were 2 of the top 5-8 teams in the country.

This week while great for the rivalry aspect always make me wonder now who Mac is trying to convince he doesn't "care" about it or college ball in general.

Early offensive playcalling is suspect and why aren't we using TP as dual threat QB?

How does a major D1 school go 3-14 on FGs? You can't tell me there isn't a single walk-on soccer player at UM that can kick a ball straight.

Such a BS flag and rule, you cannot argue the necessity of that dive into the end zone. How does a ref know Posey scores there without the dive, total BS.

Today Erie is right, if we tackled like this against the Ducks we'd get romped, if we tackle like our usual OSU selves we beat em, like last year.

ETA: that throw by TP right there, is why he is not great, almost an expected play every other game.

Where the fuck are the linebackers today? We have seen BR and RH a few times (couple of big plays), but on a play to play basis, they are absent. That is why every run is going for 10 yards and also why Jermale Hines is making every tackle. I have not slowed it down or rewatched it, is the scUM o-line getting to the next level?

Pryor looks great today. That was a terrible play to end the half, but they are finally calling a game that actually matches his skill set. He should be in the gun every down, from the spread, expecting to pass. If the WRs are covered then he does it with his legs. Making him NFL ready (and using 3/5/7 step drops) is really not our problem. Also, I would really like to see OSU use the fucking Pistol more. There is a reason lots of teams use it, because it fucking works with spread teams and shotgun QBs.

The only thing I disagree with is how they are using Pryor, not using his legs enough IMO. Using him in a drop back or shotgun, then allowing his legs to either gain yards or open up the passing lanes is the best way to use him, and if we insist on running him from under center or shotgun, do it while going wide giving him lane options. He does not like contact and running him between tackles is useless. Notice his running style while escaping a rush v open field, interesting, is it a patience thing?

The celebration fouls are a disgrace to the NCAA. Glad the announcers are noting the absurdity of penalizing 15 yards for a player making an "O" with his hands after a TD.

The holding on Dane was complete bullshit.

They're a mediocre MAC team. That's the kind of fight they put up.

Officials clearly ovulating today. Worst game I can remember on years from that standpoint. Took a 98-yard record setting run/TD away from a kid for the biggest chickenshit/gash call I've ever seen.

9-1 for Tress and 7 straight.

Dominating and uninspiring all at the same time.

Just a strange team and season. Don't know how else to really explain it.

Hard to believe this OSU team is one TERRIBLE 1st QTR away from play Oregon for a NC. Go back to that Wisky Game, if OSU is able to not SUCK for the 1st QTR, we could be looking forward to LaMichael James right now.

I don't think OSU wanted to totally humiliate ScUM, because they want to keep Dick Rod around. That's the reason for the play-calling.

Has anyone taken a close look at the computer polls?

I can't really make heads or tails of it but since Ohio State's computer ranking is so lousy, they are sure to move up a lot more spots in some of these computer polls than Wisconsin will.

Teams typically ahead of Ohio State that lost:
Ok. St.
Ala
LSU
Boise

On the flip side Arkansas was just 1 behind the buckeyes, and Mich. State is sure to rise from 12. I don't know if we can hand this Rose Bowl over to Wisky. Of course the human polls are key, but this strange combination of losses could juggle the computer rankings quite a bit. Wisky might fly by Stanford too it's hard to say.

I am really starting to believe that Wisco is a top 2 team. OSU is a 1/2 notch down from last year and MSU is a pretty good team (not great, but pretty good). No way this is a down year for the Big 11. I would put Wisco up against anyone today.

Furls I agree, Wisk'y oline is that good, that they could beat anyone in the country. Bama, Auburn, Oregon, lil Sisters of the poor, anyone. FFS they put 9 guys on the line and say here we come and still get it done, impressive.

The BCS guru chimes in with what I was talking about, not knowing the real separation between Wisky and OSU in the computers.

One last statement on tOSU v Michigan....

Image...
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB
