State of the Zips: Akron (0-3, 0-0) has been outscored, 114-50, by teams picked to finish at the bottom of their respective conferences. Another one is on the ledger this week at Indiana.

Just enjoying how the cast who say "Kent doesn't care about sports, we nly care about partying" loves to pile on when an Akron program does bad. Great excuse, maybe I'll start using it.
Enjoy it while you can...

And I dislike saying it, perhaps it would be better if the MAC went D-I-AA in football. You ain't going to be playing with the Big Boys in the BCS and if you moved down a little, Kent, Akron, etc would have a legit shot at a 2nd rate Nat'l title.
Leave D-1 football to just have the some weird Frankenstein version of the ACC, a 16 team SEC, a 16 team big ten, a revival of the SWC and some weird Mountain West/PAC 10 divided into two conferences.

I'd rather play Youngstown State and Dayton than get smoked by BCS fodder in he non-con.

I'm guessing a Va Tech joke would be too soon?

Those Arkansas Hilljacks...err...kids.. are to NCAA bass fishing what the UCLA Bruins were to NCAA hoops under Wooden.
Those boys are anglers.
You guys wanna do brackets for the rifle and fishing tourneys this year?

You underestimate the actual number of rednecks competing for those schollies.
And I grew up in Euclid. I wasn't introduced to the good, clean livin' til after BG.

'The 2010-2011 World University Rankings – considered “the gold standard for world-class research institutions” by The Times – appears in the newspaper’s higher education supplement, the Times Higher Education. The newspaper partnered with Thomson Reuters to compile and issue this year’s list. Kent State ranks 79th among universities in North America and 196th in the world. The world ranking comes on the heels of the 2011 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News Media Group where Kent State received a coveted spot in the first-tier list of Best National Universities.

Don't waste your time there, it really is a quality university. I was one of the HNICs for a while, and there are some really good opportunities for students. Find a cause, go to the football games.
